Critical Review Form Quantitative Studies PDF

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of an occupational therapy driving intervention on older adults' driving skills and self-regulation. The study used a randomized controlled trial design with 40 community-dwelling older adults randomly assigned to either an intervention or control group. The intervention group received 8 weeks of in-home occupational therapy driving sessions focused on skills training and education, while the control group received a social visit. Outcome measures of on-road driving performance, self-regulation, and driving self-efficacy were administered pre- and post-intervention. Results showed statistically significant improvements in on-road driving performance and self-regulation in the intervention group compared to controls. The study provides preliminary evidence that occupational therapy can effectively improve older adult
