1.0 Introduction
1.1 Purpose
We propose to develop a mobile application named as FTMK Navigation to help all
the user on finding their desire location at FTMK.
1.2 Background
Believe it or not? The usual problem for new university students is getting into their
lecture room or lab without losing direction. This problem is hard to be overcome as
the size of a faculty in a university is huge unlike secondary school and not to mention
that the place arrangement is kind of confusing. Therefore, in the end the student
might not be able to attend class because of similar problem. This problem should be
eliminated as soon as possible, right? For that reason, our group is going to propose
the title of FTMK Interactive Map Mobile Apps. To clarify the title, it is a mobile
app that students will interact with their mobile phone to getting the info for desire
location within FTMK faculty.
Imagine that a student needs to go to Lab Programming 4 for the first time
without any info. The lab is actually located at the highest floor (3rd floor) of FTMK
wing. The student will go to search every lab from lowest to highest floor. So in the
end, the student might give up during process. Not to mention that every lecturers
office room does not appear on any signboard. Finding one of the lecturers offices
will take forever to do so.
With the creation of this mobile apps, our group believe that we can make a total
difference experience of finding a location in FTMK for each student.
1.3 Scope
Our project will focus primarily on the Faculty of Information Technology and
Communication area only. The currently features of this mobile application will

provide location of lab, lecture room and lecturers office in a map. Other aspect of
this mobile apps are getting whole interactive map of each floor in FTMK.

1.4 Objective
To develop application that displays location of every lab, lecture room and lecturers

office in FTMK.
To facilitate users in locating every lecture room, labs and lecturers office.

1.5 Problem Statement


New students or even some experienced students or lecturers are facing trouble on
finding location of destination in FTMK because building structure in FTMK is

complicated plus getting changed or upgraded gradually.


The signboard and informative map in FTMK is simply not informative enough to

help anyone to get to destination.


Students may want to collect more information before meeting any lecturer in order to

get themselves prepared and searching contact information.


Prevent users from missing direction and saving time from searching desire location

in FTMK.
Provide an easy way for user to get details of any lecturer.

2.0 Discussion
2.1 Approach
Our proposed report will begin with a discussion group review on the map of the
Faculty of Information Technology and Communication and divide task to each team
member. Then, we will gather the requirement information such as every lecturer
office, lecture room and lab into sketch of map. After complete gather the requirement
then the next step is developing the application. Finally we will testing the mobile
application for beta testing.
2.2 Result
Our proposed result will come out a mobile application which will provide location of
lecturer office, lecture room and lab for the user to search.

3.0 Conclusion
3.1 Summary
In conclusion we found that this application is very useful for students and staffs in
FTMK especially for the newcomers. We believe this application have the potential to
be widely used in every faculty in the future. Since nowadays, everybody has their
own smart phones so they can use this application to help them. We hope that this
application also been used to all university in this country.
