Insert a compressor on the track you want to compress, such as a string pad. Click the sidechain button on the compressor and route a send from the kick track to the compressor. Adjusting the send level will cause the compressed track to dip in volume when the kick hits, allowing the kick to cut through the mix.

Insert a compressor on your


track which you want to

compress.
Get a compressor up (for

example here, on a string pad)


Click the sidechain button in

the compressor
The next step is to take a send

compressing)
Click the e button on the kick
track, then select an empty
