Typical Applications
The Bohlin V88 Viscometer is an easy to use instrument which provides

accurate viscosity measurements at single or multiple shear rates. Its flexibility
and construction make it appropriate for use in a variety of industries and
facilitates a wide measuring range: low viscosity fluids through to viscous
pastes. The instrument is designed for routine testing in QC laboratories,
although its large measuring range and available options also makes it
suitable for basic development applications.
As standard the instrument is supplied as a stand alone unit with three DIN
concentric cylinder measuring systems, a laboratory stand with a spill tray, a
recharger unit and a storage and carrying case. The rechargeable battery unit
makes the V88 ideal for completely portable measurements in the field or on
the production floor.
The concentric cylinder systems can be configured in 8 different ways (3 DIN,
2 Wide Gap, 3 Infinite Sea) and their design allows measurement of samples
to be made in-situ (e.g. in a container) as well as on the laboratory bench.
The Visco 88 can be easily converted to a versatile cone and plate viscometer
by using the optional cone and plate attachment. With the optional Bohlin
Windows software, the Visco 88 can be transformed into an extremely
flexible, computer controlled viscometer with over 250 different shear rate
settings possible.

fluids and pastes. The gap setting system is simple and
accurate to use and gives excellent reproducibility. An
integral water jacket within the cone and plate option
gives optimum temperature control.

Optional Accessories
software enables full control and programming of the
Visco88 with over 250 different speeds from any PC
running Windows 3.1 or higher. Test protocols and
measured data can be stored for later retrieval and an
integrated data processing function enables model
fitting, real time merging of data for QC pass/fail
testing. Graphical data presentation is fully flexible
with a cut and paste function for the tabulated data.
To enhance operator control, the parameter set-up for a
test can be changed whilst a test is in progress.
