Report
(Lewis, Andries, Matthew)
1. Abstract:
We studied about where the recycling goes to, and what else we can do
with the rubbish. We could reuse the rubbish at woodworks so they can
use some cardboard. We can use everyones skills around the school to
setup the recycling bins. Our intended audience is the whole school. We
think sustainability is helpful to the environment.

2. Individual statements:
Lewis:
I think that we can make a good team. We can each work on what we are
meant to in the group. I learnt how plastic can do and I got some new
ideas from my group. There is some arguing but we do a lot of work
eventually at the end of the lesson. Sometimes we work more individually
than as a team so I think we should work on that.
Andries:
I think we have a good chance that we can work efficiently as a team. So
far we decided what idea for our report. I have learned that we all are
good in certain areas such as Matthew can make a good structure plan
while Lewis good at brain storming. There is one problem with us and it is
concentrating.
Matthew:
I enjoyed hearing the other group members ideas and I enjoyed coming
up with ways to help our schools environment. To improve our group work
we could have all helped more on the one thing rather than all three of us
on separate tasks. I learned how plastic can destroy our environment. and
that there are still many things that FCAC needs to improve on for their
environment.
Introduction:
Sustainability is when we use renewable resources so whenever we need
more of the resources, the resources would have grown back. FCAC is a
private school, it is in Hervey bay, it has about 800 students, it is about
1.2 kilometres long and 500 meters wide and it has a lot of trees and
wildlife. The purpose of this report is to talk about the schools
sustainability and how it could improve its sustainability. We are talking
about the schools sustainability because we do not think that the school
has enough sustainability. So we want to help with the schools
sustainability.
3. Body paragraph 1:
The tuckshop is getting plastic bottles and containers that are not
biodegradable, so the bottles end up going into the waste bins or being
litter around the school. The kids in our school bring foods or buy foods
that are wrapped in plastic and then sometimes litter because they dont
walk over to the bin. FCAC has a lot of wildlife in the school so it is even
worse of the kids around the school litter because the animals will mistake
the litter for something else.
4. Group recommendations:
We should put some recycling bins around the school so most of the
rubbish does not go into the waste. And to make sure the kids know what
to recycle and what not to recycle we can put up a sign that tells them
not to. We could make some recycling bins and make them yellow so they
know what bin is recycling and waste. It can be completed if we all work
together on this project and put the recycling bins next to each waste bin.
Some of the recycling can go to woodworks for the students to craft with.
The materials would be like plastic for the bins and the bags and the cost
might be a bit expensive but it will be worth the cost.
