Step-by-step

Instructions how to run full OrCad 16.6 (with Allegro) with Full
OrCad 10.5 (with final release of OrCad Layout) on the same installation

After this installation you will be able to run all the applications you see below
simultaneously on the same PC (Windows 7 64 or 32-bit). This process may also
work on WXP (SVC pack3), Vista or Windows 8, but the instructions are shown
here using 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate running in VMware Fusion Version 6.0.3
under MacOSx Mavericks.

Step 1 Start with a Clean Machine



If you have if you have any OrCad products already installed

- Uninstall ALL previous OrCad
applications including License
Managers
- Go to [Control Panel Programs
Unistall a Program]
- Remove one-by-one all of these (if
they exist)
o Release OrCAD 10.5
o Cadence SPB/OrCAD 12.X
o Cadence SPB/OrCAD 16.X
o Cadence License Manager
ver X.X
o etc (any thing with Cadence
or OrCAD in the name)
- REBOOT and delete any folders
with Cadence or OrCad










If you DONT have any OrCad products already installed
- just continue













Step 2 Installing OrCad 10.5 (from download\Cadence\Orcad 10.5)



1. Run \Cadence\Orcad
10.5\Disk1\setup.exe
























2. Just install

3. Dont install any License


4. Copy file cadopia.dat from the Orcad 10.5\Crack ...folder to
c:\OrCAD\OrCAD_10.5

5. On start Menu, right click


on Computer and select
Properties

6. Choose Advanced
Settings,
Environmental
Varables, then
New

7. Add the system


variable with a
path to the file
copied in step 4






8. Restart Windows
9. OrCad Capture 10.5 and OrCad Layout 10.5 should now work (test it)

Step 3 Installing OrCad 16.6 (from download\Cadence\Orcad 16.6)



1. Start the Orcad 16.6
setup.exe file






2. Start the License Manager
and install it completely
with no options. (skip the
installation of an actual
license)










3. Next, install the Products
you wish to use. Finish
the installation and exit
installer.











4. Copy all the files from ..Orcad 16.6\aspirin\LicenseManager\


to ...Cadence\LicenseManager\
(copy and replace all files)
























5. Copy the 3 files from Orcad 16.6\aspirin\tools


to Cadence\SPB_16.6\tools\
(copy and replace all files)

6. In the copied-to folder run the Tools.cmd by right clicking the file and
choose open
(after this a command

7. Go to the installation folder Cadence\Orcad 16.6\aspirin\LicGen and


edit YourHostName with notepad (in this example replace it with vPC)
(this should match the Computer Name from the first picture in these
instructions) Then save the file.

8. Right click the LicGen.cmd and


run it by choosing open (you
might have to choose Run as
Administrator depending on
your Windows settings

9. Start the Cadence License Manager Service





























10. Choose the file created. Then just choose next in the next dialogue
boxthen finish

11. Last step is to configure the Environment variables so that BOTH OrCad
10.5 and OrCad 16.6 will work simultaneously (see step 7 of installing
OrCar 10.5)





























12. After this modification the environment variable should read:
C:\OrCAD\OrCAD_10.5\cadopia.dat;5280@vPC;5280@localhost

13. You are done!~ Now you can run all OrCad Applications at the same time
with no license restrictions.
