REASONING AND CRITICAL THINKING
BSED- SOCIAL STUDIES

SCIENTIFIC

I chose Determinism as a closest Philosophy to me. Some of its holds are

acceptable in my beliefs like in religious Determinism, because I believe that
humans have a free will, free to make decisions in life, free to thinks and free to do
things but Gods plan will always prevail. Our life is determined by God and only
Him alone. Our actions in the past is the cause of what we are today and what we
do today will determine what we are in the future. I believe that all my decisions
today will earn something for the future maybe for good or something that will
leave me lessons. We are the product of our past experience. Next is Solipsism, that
all things dont exist as long as you didnt give meaning to it. I believe that some
people, places, things do exist even though Im not aware about it and even it is not
present in my consciousness. And things around me that became significance when
I give them value and worth and present in my experiences. Next is Existentialism,
because my life is a constant search for my purpose in life, who am I and what my
life will be based on my experience, beliefs and outlook in life and I am the one who
is responsible for my reason to live. Then Absurdism where in everything has ending
but every ending is a new beginning, that there is no such word us forever
because everything in the world is temporary and have come to an end. Then next
is Objectivism, that we humans are responsible for our own happiness and it is
considered as the highest moral purpose in life. That reality is reality no one can
distort it even your beliefs and experience cannot change it. And I believe also that
there is no master and slaves in the society we are all equal and it disregards
mysticism and religion.
Then, in Utilitarianism I believe that my actions good or bad has a
corresponding consequences and I believe also in greatest happiness for
the greatest number of people or we known as common good. Next is epicureanism,
that we must live in modest and simple life and too much pleasure may cause pain
to us. With the use of this theory I learned to appreciate life and be contented in
what I have that too much of everything may cause me harm. And next is
Positivism, a Philosophy that seems far to my beliefs, because everything in it has a
scientific explanation and logical methods because I believe that some things in life
cannot be explain by science at all. There are things what will leave as a mystery
and humans cannot discover nor create it. Second to the last Philosophy is Nihilism
where everything in the world is nothing, nothing exists, it is totally far to what I
believe in because everything around me has a meaning, everything possesses
meaning that are not yet realized of everyone. And lastly the farthest to my beliefs
is Secular Humanism, because it says here that humanity is capable of morality and
self-fulfillment without belief in God which is I totally dont believe in. Because I
believe that man cannot stand on his own without help of God, that He created
wisdom and human should only discover it. My values and beliefs in life are based
on Gods word.
