If you are using Office 365 or other Exchange-based email, you can find your POP3 and IMAP4 server settings by
using Outlook Web App. Connecting to your account using POP3 and IMAP4 lets you send and receive email.
TIP You cant access your contacts, tasks, or calendar when you connect to your account using POP3 or IMAP4.
We recommend that you connect to your account using Exchange ActiveSync.
If youre connecting to your Office 365 email, you dont need to look up your settings. For Office 365, use the
following settings.
SERVER NAME
PORT
ENCRYPTION METHOD
POP3
outlook.office365.com
995
SSL
IMAP4
outlook.office365.com
993
SSL
SMTP
smtp.office365.com
587
TLS
If youre not connecting to Office 365 email, do the following to look up your settings.
1. In Outlook Web App, click Settings
The POP, IMAP, and SMTP server names for Office 365 users shown earlier in this article applies to accounts
that are on the latest version of Office 365 (sometimes referred to as Office 365 after the service upgrade). If
your account is not on the latest version of Office 365 (sometimes referred to as Office 365 pre-upgrade), you
need to look up your own POP, IMAP, and SMTP settings. Check out Am I using Office 365 after the service
upgrade? to determine if your account is on the latest version of Office 365.
Although you can connect to your account using POP3 or IMAP4, we recommend that you connect to your
account using Exchange ActiveSync because Exchange ActiveSync supports more features than POP3 and
IMAP4. Desktop email programs that support Exchange ActiveSync include Outlook 2007, Outlook 2010,
Outlook 2013, Outlook for Mac 2011, Windows 8 Mail, Apple Mail, and Entourage.
For desktop email program setup instructions, see Email program setup reference.
For mobile device and tablet setup instructions, see Phone and tablet setup reference.
If the server settings for POP server, IMAP server, and SMTP server dont show in the Outlook Web App
options, your account may not be set up to use POP or IMAP email programs. For more information, contact
the person who manages your email account.
