Elements of Visual Interpretation - Natural Resources Canada PDF

The document discusses the elements of visual interpretation used when analyzing remote sensing imagery. It describes seven key elements - tone, shape, size, pattern, texture, shadow, and association - that aid in distinguishing targets and extracting information from images. These elements allow analysts to identify features based on their brightness, form, scale, spatial arrangements, surface textures, shadows, and relationships to surrounding objects. The document provides examples of each element and has the user identify features in a sample aerial photograph by applying these concepts.
