Explain How Your Internship Responsibilities Will be Beneficial to the School District.
This is a brand new program for the Sherman community. It will provide the students of
Sherman breakfast and lunch every day, a safe place to be, positive role models, new
experiences, constructive activities, and academics to help stave off regression. It will also help
the areas economy, as it is totally free, so parents will not have to pay high day care costs
throughout the summer.
Explain How You Feel the Internship Will Help You Including Your Analysis of Areas that Require
Strengthening.
I hope to grow as a leader in all aspects, but especially in the areas of discipline and working
with personnel. This internship will give me daily practice in both of these areas. I will be
overseeing both students and teachers throughout the program to make sure everyone has a
positive experience. Given this is a pilot program; it is imperative that it be a successful and
positive experience for all those involved. Hopefully this program will be able to grow to reach
more ages in future years.

V. Means of Evaluation
Above I have outlined in the matrix dates and hours when certain artifacts will be worked on and completed.
Overall I hope to begin clocking hours as soon as possible and clock hours as long as I am able to. I will use
each day of the summer for between 8-10 hours of internship. I plan on getting to work by 7:30 each day and
leaving by 4:30. Once my job begins again in September I understand I will not be able to clock internship
hours while working, so I will work several vacation days as well as come in an hour early and stay an hour
late each day. The observational techniques employed will follow the Charlotte Danielson MPPR Rubrics. This
can be provided if needed. This is the same rubric I will be evaluated on once I am employed as a principal. All
conference forms, public relations materials, logs, meeting minutes, etc. will be provided upon completion of
the internship. Also, due to the fact that I work closely with my building principal and he will be informally
checking all of my work before I submit it to the public I will submit a log of his informal feedback and changes
that needed to be made to certain public relations materials, etc.
VI. Evaluation Tools
I will evaluate the competencies in the following ways:
A. Examination of interns reports (daily, weekly, monthly)
B. Conferences with University Supervisor
C. Conferences with Site Supervisor
D. Self Assessment Inventory (to be given to candidate at the final meeting with the university and site
supervisors)
E. Site Supervisors evaluations
F. University Supervisors evaluations
G. Other relevant information
H. Final report analyzing the total internship experience. It should include reflections about each target
competency area.
