Taking the Test

On the date of the test, you should arrive at the test


centre at least 15 minutes prior to the starting time.
You will need to bring:
A copy of your Appointment Summary;
Two (2) forms of current identification (ID), including
one (1) form of current photographic ID which
must include your name, date of birth, signature and
embedded photograph; and
Printed (paper) bilingual dictionary, if required.
Candidates without two current forms of identification
will not be admitted to the test.

Results
Your nominated universities are able to access your
results after the test.
You can view and print your own results online after
results are released you will receive an email from ACER
with instructions on how to do this.

The International Student Admissions Test (ISAT) is a three-hour test comprised of


multiple-choice questions and used by universities to assist their selection of international
students for certain undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
ISAT is a valid, secure selection tool that measures general academic abilities considered
important for coping with the intellectual demands of most tertiary courses.
ISAT assesses Critical Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning.

Why ISAT?

Test Format

A number of universities require international students to


take ISAT as part of the application process.

ISAT is a computer-based test. A short tutorial on how


to navigate the electronic test format is offered before
undertaking the test.

Where and When?


ISAT is delivered by Prometric. There are over 5000
Authorised Prometric Testing Centres around the world.
Test sessions are available between March and February.
You may select a test date at an Authorised Prometric Testing
Centre convenient to your location.
Please check course information and deadlines before
choosing your test date and registering for ISAT.

ISAT is presented in units: stimulus material is followed by


multiple-choice questions. It assesses:
Critical Reasoning comprehending, analysing, evaluating
and extending ideas; these questions use materials from
the humanities and social sciences.
Quantitative Reasoning drawing conclusions, making
decisions and solving problems; these questions use
material from mathematics and the sciences.
ISAT does not test subject specific knowledge.

How to Register
You must have an email address and a credit card* to
complete your registration.
1 
Visit the ISAT website and read the information under
Registration and Test Day.
2 Then select Registration / How to Register / Register
Here. You will be redirected to the Prometric
registration website.
3 Select a test centre from the list available.
4 Select a test date from the list available. Note that
registrations close 13 days before the test date.

Before Registering

5 Complete your details and select the universities to


which you are applying.

It is important that you read the different sections of the


ISAT website before registering for the test. This includes
information about how to register; preparing for the test;
sample questions; test centre regulations; and frequently
asked questions.

6 Pay the test fee by credit card.


7 Print your Appointment Summary.
* If you do not have a credit card, you can purchase a
single use card from a bank for online transactions.
