Friction

The children did an experiment to determine which type of footwear - a trainer, rubber boot, or shoe - had the best grip. They tied a string from each footwear to a pan, added weights until the footwear just started to move, and recorded the weights. The footwear that required the highest weight before moving would be considered to have the best grip, as it exerted the most friction.
