"To all who are loved by God and called to be saints; Grace and peace to you from
God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ."
Romans 1:7
"On him we have set our hope that he will cill continue to deliver us. As you
help us by your prayers, then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious
favor granted us in ansv/er to the prayers of many." II Cor. 1:10,11
"Now he who supplies seeds to the sower and bread for food will also supply and
increase your store of seed and will (enlarge the harvest of your righteousness).
You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion,
and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service
that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also over
flowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you
have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your
confession of the gospel of Christ and for your generosity in sharing with them and
with everyone else. And in their (and our) prayers for you, their hearts (and ours)
will go out to you; because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to
God for us undescribable gift," II Cor 9:10-15.
This is how the Vlilkersons here and your brothers and sisters in the Philippines
feel toward all of you. For your faithfulness throughout the year. Your support
financially and spiritually has helped us to remain on the mission field, and do
what we could do. Vlithout you, we could not have done it. Praise be unto God for
al1 of you.
As you know, Rosie, the children and I are coming home in May of this year; God
willing. I believe He is! All of us are looking forward to that journey. However
there have been some changes of goals and directions of my life and service to the
Lord. I tell you this in 1ove and confidence that vou will understand.
By searching myself in prayer and conviction, it is my choice and desire to enter
the United States Army. There I will continue my studies toward a Masters Degree
and become a Chaplain. Now because of my age, time is critical. I must do it now,
or never. By serving in the Army, my burdeo, and the family's would be lightened.
As far as finances, stress, ect., it would, and I see it as an opportunity to serve
my Lord in a very badly needed mission field. I have told you this now, so it will
not be such a shock, when we return home, I also realize by telling you now, that
some of you might say, Why support them now, if that's what he is going to do? But
I pray that you won't feel that way. But as you have helped us in the past, and
present, so you will do till we are back stateside.
I win fulfill my obligation to all of you; of visiting, giving report, and slides.
But it will be on a different time schedule. So please be patient and understanding
with me. With God's help, I will do what I have said.
If you wish to respond to this letter, please feel free to write us here in the
Philippines, or to Larry, or Janet. They will get the message to us. We love you
with the love of the Lord. We need you. "Finally, brothers, good-bye. Aim for
perfection, listen to my appeal, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love
?.nd peace will be with you. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Icve of
God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all."
God's Servants and yours;
