5th Grade Classroom/Behavior Management

EAGLE Binders are sent home every day. Please check your childs agenda for any
notes from the school or from the teacher. Be sure to look for any behavior
reflection slips that must be signed. Talk about any problems your child may have
had that day. Make sure that you sign your childs agenda every night!
Please notify me in writing if your child has transportation change. The office will
only take emergency transportation changes in the afternoon.
Please do not email me transportation changes. I am not always available to check
email during the day.
Please note that if your child has been tardy or absent 5 or more times, they will be
referred to a social worker. This is a Cobb County policy.

Behavior Management System

Each student will have a card on the corner of their desk that says KICKBACK.
Each letter is worth two minutes of free time. (Students are able to have a total of
16 minutes)
When the student does not adhere to the classroom rules or expectations they will
cross out one of their letters.
Depending on the number of letters remaining, the students will multiply each letter
remaining by two. This is the number of minutes they will have for free time on
Friday.
Example: On Monday John forgot to turn in his homework, and was talking when
asked not to, on Thursday.
On Friday, John will have 12 minutes
of free time. 6 x 2 = 12

KICKBAC

When the student is asked to cross out a letter, they will be responsible for filling
out a behavior form, it must be signed by their parent/guardian and returned the
following day.
If the student has all of his or her letters remaining, they will receive 5 points to
earn items off of the rewards menu.

Every month students who have had less than 5 letters or 10 points marked off will
get too attend our Ultimate Kickback. This will be held in one teachers
classroom once a month. Students will engage in fun learning games and
technology. Students who have had more than 5 letters or 10 points taken away
will go to a classroom with assignments to complete.
Please see the attached After School Detention Letter.
