    QUARRY UPDATE : WILL


    PASSING BAYS HELP?

    The current planning applica on to extend Creigiau Quarry is s ll on-going with Cardi
    Council and could be decided at a Planning Commi ee in September or October 2016.
    There is now a new proposal for Tarmac to fund 4 passing places along Heol Pant Y Gored
    from the Creigiau Rec / Quarry entrance (see diagram) to accommodate the quarry trac.
    Remember that should the quarry re-open there will be an addi&onal 146 lorry movements
    per day along this stretch. Land south of the road would be given to the Council (if planning
    was granted) along with funds of 35,000 from Tarmac and the Council would construct the
    bays within 12 months
    This is subject to a further public consulta&on - to which I urge residents to contribute as this
    could be a key factor in deciding the planning applica&on. The deadline is 11th August but
    comments will be accepted right up un&l the Commi5ee decides in September or October.
