PIPELINE AND PIPEWORK

IDENTIFICATION GUIDE
The chart below depicts the marking for many common pipeline contents, and comply with BS 1710: 1984 Specification
for identification of pipeline and services, and colour coded to BS 4800; 2011. These indicate the contents of pipelines,
pipes, pipework, ducting, ducts (building services) and electrical conduits. Also, this assists in meeting the requirements
of the Health and Safety (Signs and Signals) Regulations for indicating dangerous substances in pipelines and in
storage. The tapes provide a visual identifier to warn of the risks and dangers from any release of pipeline contents, and
to prevent accidents and injuries from any such release.
