PRACTICAL 5
Q1: A pentagonal pyramid, having base with a 30 mm side and 70 mm length, is resting on its base in the
HP with an edge of the base parallel to the VP. It is cut by a section plane perpendicular to the VP, inclined
at 600 to the HP and bisecting the axis. Draw its front view, sectional top view and sectional auxiliary view
on the plane parallel to the cutting plane in 3rd angle.
Q2:A right circular cone of 50 mm base diameter, axis 50 mm long is resting on its base in the HP. It is cut
by a sectional plane perpendicular to the HP and 450 to the VP at a distance 10 mm from the apex toward the
observer. Draw its top view, sectional front view and true shape of section in 3rd angle projection.
Q3:A solid having a 70 mm height is made of half cone (with a 60 mm base) and a half hexagonal pyramid
(having base with a 30 mm side). It is resting on the HP on its base such that diameter line of base of cone is
perpendicular to the VP. The solid is cut by a cutting plane inclined at 450 to the HP and passing through
mid-point of axis. Draw its sectional top view, front view without section and also draw true shape of
section.
Q4: A pentagonal prism of side of base 30 mm and axis 60 mm long rests with one of its rectangular face on
HP with axis inclined at 300 to VP. A section plane parallel to the VP and passing though the centre point of
the axis of prism. Draw the projections of the cut solid.

Q1: A square prism with 50 mm edge and an axis of 60 mm rests on its base with its side faces equally
inclined to the VP. A concentric axial hole of 24 mm diameter is cut through the prism. The prism is cut by a
section plane perpendicular to VP, inclined at 600 to the HP and bisecting the axis. Draw the front view,
sectional top view and sectional right hand side view in 1st angle projection.
