5.15 Response for Enclosed Space Evacuation


ENCLOSED SPACE EVACUATIONS

ASSESSMENT OF THE NATURE OF INCIDENT

ACTIONS REQUIRED

Raise emergency alarm.


Send responsible persons with BA sets to evacuate victims.
Assess condition of victims and resuscitate and/or give First Aid.
Seek medical advise from AEA or CIRM, where necessary.
Monitor and record progressive condition of victims.

CENTRAL CONTROL TEAM (C/T)


1. Ensure entry procedures safety checks made before A/T enters
enclosed space to evacuate victims.
2. Fix ships position and record all movements and/or events.
3. Compile communication reports and subsequently inform DPA.

ACTION TEAM (A/T)


1. Rig extra supply and exhaust fans at vicinity.
2. Carry out safety checks including proper use of BA before rescue team
(A/T) enters enclosed space.
3. Evacuate victims to be safe location and report situation to C/T.

SUPPORT TEAM (S/T)


1. Attend to engine room services and controls.
2. Ensure continuous ventilation of the enclosed
space.
3. Assist as directed.
