Installation of Oracle 11g express Database

The major task is to install Oracle 11g express edition. The following is the minimum
requirement for the lab:
1. Register with Oracle Technology Network.

2. Download the Oracle 11g express version appropriate for your own computer
system. (located at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/databasetechnologies/express-edition/downloads/index.html)
You must accept the terms for the license agreement.

3. Read Oracle's installation guide before installation. Oracle provides an


extensive array of documentation. As a database professional, you should

always review carefully on its administrator's guide (or installation guide) before
starting installing your software. This will help reduce the down time to minimum
for your company.
4. Install Oracle 11g express following the installation guide. Please make notes on
the password(s) that you input during the installation.
Unzip the download and run the DISK1/setup.exe

5. Be able to access Oracle 11g express in your own computer system.


6. Login Oracle SQL Plus as SYSTEM/password.
