Introduction
Hardware
Computer hardware usually simply called hardware when a computing context implicit is the
collection of physical elements that constitutes a computer system . Computer hardware is the
physical parts or components of a computer, such as the monitor, mouse, keyboard, computer
data storage, hard disk drive (HDD), system unit graphic cards, sound cards, memory,
motherboard and chips, and so on, all of which are physical objects that can be touched that is,
they are tangible .In contrast, software is instructions that can be
stored and run by
hardware.
Software:
Computer software or simply software is any set of machine-readable instructions that directs
a computer's processor to perform specific operations. Computer software contrasts
with computer hardware, which is the physical component of computers. Computer hardware
and software require each other and neither can be realistically used without the other. Using a
musical analogy, hardware is like a musical instrument and software is like the notes played on
that instrument. Computer software includes computer programs, libraries and their associated
documentation. The word software is also sometimes used in a more narrow sense,
meaning application software only.

hardware and software resources and provides common services for computer
programs. The operating system is a component of the system software in a
computer system. Computer users can use for free and may be redistributed and
modified.

OpenIndiana is a free and open-source, Unix operating system derived from OpenSolaris and
based on Illumos. Developers forked OpenSolaris after Oracle Corporation discontinued it, in
order to continue development and distribution of the source code.[3] The OpenIndiana project is
stewarded by the illumos Foundation, which also stewards the illumos operating system.
OpenIndiana's developers strive to make it "the defacto OpenSolaris distribution installed on
production servers where security and bug fixes are required free of charge". The stable release is
on April 21,2016.
Development started in 1996, as a Windows 95 clone project, which was in 1998 continued as
ReactOS with the incremental addition of features of later Windows versions. ReactOS has been
noted as a potential open-source drop-in replacement for Window and for its information on
undocumented Windows APIs. As stated on the official website. The ultimate goal of ReactOS is
to allow you to remove Windows and install ReactOS without the end user noticing the change.
ReactOS is considered alpha software, feature-incomplete but with many Windows applications
already working (e.g. Adobe Reader 6.0, OpenOffice and therefore recommended by the
developers only for evaluation and testing purposes. The stable release is on May 17,2016.

Open source application software is computer software that is available in source code form for
which the source code and certain other rights normally reserved for copyright holders are
provided under a software license that permits users to study, change, and improve the software.
Open source licenses often meet the requirements of the Open Source definition. Some open
source application software is available within the public domain. Open source application
software is very often developed in a public, collaborative manner. Open source application
software is the most prominent example of open source development and often compared to
user-generated content.

World Wind is an open-source (released under the NOSA license) virtual globe first
developed by NASA in 2003 for use on personal computers and then further
developed in concert with the open source community since 2004. The original
version relied on .NET Framework, which ran only on Microsoft Windows. The more
recent Java version, World Wind Java, is cross platform, a software development kit
(SDK) aimed at developers and, unlike the old .NET version, not a standalone virtual
globe application in the style of Google Earth. The SDK includes a suite of basic
demos, available at goworldwind.org .The stable release is on April 30,2014.
ADempiere
ADempiere is an Enterprise Resource Planning or ERP software package released under a free
software license. The word ADempiere in Italian means "to fulfill" or "to accomplish". The
stable release is on 2 March,2015.

The ICT Development Index (IDI) is an index published by the United Nations International
Telecommunication Union based on internationally agreed information and communication
technologies (ICT) indicators. This makes it a valuable tool for benchmarking the most important
indicators for measuring the information society. The IDI is a standard tool that governments,
operators, development agencies, researchers and others can use to measure the digital
divide and compare ICT performance within and across countries. The ICT Development Index
is based on 11 ICT indicators, grouped in three cluster access, use and skills.

Pervasive Computing
5.1
Meaning of pervasive
Pervasive computing is an emerging trend associated with embedding microprocessors in day-today objects, allowing them to communicate information. It is also known as ubiquitous
computing. The terms ubiquitous and pervasive signify existing everywhere." Pervasive
computing systems are totally connected and consistently available. Pervasive computing goes
past the arena of desktops so that virtually any device, from apparel to kitchen appliances, could
be embedded with microchips, connecting these devices to a boundless network of other gadgets.

gadgets which we think would be fun to have around our laptops .If you are looking for a
new set of laptop or computer speakers, Altec Lansing has got something new for you. The
speaker set is composed of 2 speakers and one subwoofer with a beautiful black design meant to
look extraordinary attached to your unit. The 2 speakers are shaped like theater or cinema
reflectors. You can control the volume directly from the speaker.

Conclusion
I learn about the latest development in ICT. ICT has so many benefits that human dont know .In
an object they have hardware and software which makes that thing look real and people will like
it .I hope everyone should really appreciate ICT.
