Lesson Two

Subject: English language art


Instructor: Zhu Shasha

Time length for each session: 45 mins


Students grade level: Grade 10

Lesson Introduction
This lesson will be given during students preparation for their presentation after they collect
relevant information and data from different sources. The aim is to check in their progresses, and
also provide necessary help as regard to how to structure their presentation better and how to
make a good use of technological tools, and so on.

PART 1: OBJECTIVES AND OUTCOMES


At the end of this lesson, students will be able to
Have a more clear assignment of roles each group member plays in their final
presentation;
Have more logical and organized structure for their presentation;
Know what other information they still need to collect as to make their
presentation more complete;
Learn more about how to use the digital tools to help them with the projects;
Get constructive and useful feedback from their peers;

PART 2: IMPLEMENTATION/ PROCEDURE


Activities and class time allocation
(1) Each group of students present their summary about their project, including their
topics, rationales for choosing that topic, what information they already have, and how
they are going to structure their presentation; (20)

(2) Other groups listen and make notes while one group is summarizing, and will give
some feedback (including my feedback) to their peer groups after they finish. (8-10)
(3) I will show them the rubrics for the final presentation and discuss any problems
with students . (8-10);
(4) Provide more instructions to use digital tools and some useful resources such as
websites; (10)

PART 3: ASSIGNMENTS AND FOLLOW-UPS


(1) Continue with information searching and data collection if necessary;
(2) Each group sends me a copy of description of task assignments for each group
member;
(3) Each group confirms with me about what forms they decide to use for final
presentation; they can be website, powerpoint slides, videos, posters, and so on and tell
me why they think the form they choose is suitable for presenting their ideas;
(4) Each group can still make one more conference with me to discuss about their
project. (It is optional.)

PART 4: SUPPORTING MATERIALS/TECHNOLOGY/RESOURCES
