    The weight of a tear

    I was utterly surrounded by the most dreadful views and the most unpleasing smells: the
    hospital ones. I was trembling like the trees did under the icy wind of that winter
    morning; yet, their glacial shivers were nothing compared to the freezing of my heart. I
    was to have left the sandwich untouched, but I committed myself to finish it.
    To cut a long story short, let me tell you that all began five years ago, when my parents
    brought me to the doctor since all I wanted was to become thinner. After having made a
    full examination, the doctors diagnosis was that I suffered from anorexia. At that point,
    I was immediately given a referral to a psychiatrist, who urged me to gain some weight.
    Had I followed his wise advice, I would have not been hospitalized in the psychiatric
    institution.
    Little did I imagine what I was to undergo in this clinic. The first day of my
    interminable hospitalization, I fainted as I was awfully feeble indeed. For this reason, I
    was immediately given an intravenous drip and forced to rest in the gurney for
    interminable hours.
    So far I had recovered four kilograms and, thus, the doctor allowed me to receive a call
    from my parents the first one in three weeks -. No sooner had I heard the melodious
    voice of my mother when I began to cry. How hefty was that tear? Not until then, did I
    realize that ever such important things in life cannot be weighed. At the other line, my
    mum whispered come what may, I will always be on your side.
