6. The king, queen and jack of clubs are removed from a deck of 52 playing cards and then well
shuffled. One card is selected from the remaining cards. Finds the probability of getting a king.
OR Five male and three female candidates are available for selection as on manager in a
company. Find the probability that female is selected.

7. Cards marked with the numbers 2 to 101 are placed in a box and mixed thoroughly. One card is
drawn from this box. Find the probability of a number which is a perfect cube.

8. A carton consists of 100 shirts of which 88 are good, 8 have minor defects and 4 have major
defects Jimmy a trader. Will only accept the shirts which are good, but Sujatha, another trades, will
only reject the shirts which have major defects. One shirt is drawn at random from the carton. What
is the probability that
(i) It is acceptable to Jimmy? (ii) It is acceptable to Sujatha?

9. A bag contains tickets numbered 11, 12, 13, , 30. A ticket is taken out from the bag at random.
Find the probability that the number on the drawn ticket (i) is a multiple of 7, (ii) is greater than 15 a
multiple of 5.

10. A card is drawn at random from a pack of 52 playing cards. Find the probability that the card
drawn is neither an ace nor a king.
