INTRODUCTION
There have been claims that you can tell how tall a person will be just
by looking at their shoe size. On average, a tall person is figured to have
bigger feet than a shorter person. The height of a person is measured from
the top of the head to the bottom of the feet. Depending on a persons
nationality height can vary due to the different environmental and genetic
factors.
The main purpose of this assignment is to determine whether there
has the average height of students in College Poly-tech Mara Kuantan. We
expected the male students to have a greater height because one would
assume that mens height are taller than women and also how it will give
impact on health for both gender. Women ordinarily reach their greatest
height at a younger age than men, because puberty generally occurs earlier
in women than in men.
Adult height between populations often differs significantly. For
example, based on the research we looked up on website shows that the
average height of women from the Czech Republic is greater than that of
men from Malawi. This may be caused by genetic differences, childhood
lifestyle differences such as nutrition, sleep patterns, physical labor, or both.
For this statistics assignment, we decided to perform an observational
study of the height of students in College Poly-tech Mara Kuantan with a
sample of 50 students from all students in College Poly-tech Mara Kuantan.
Our variable for this assignment is the height of these 50 students in
centimeters.
