INVITATION FOR BIDS

ROAD DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT


NORTHERN PROVINCE

01. The Chairman, Departmental Procurement Committee on behalf of the Road Development
Department, Northern Province invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the works
described in the table below.

02. Bidding will be conducted through National Competitive Bidding Procedure.

03. To be eligible for contract award, the successful bidder shall not have been blacklisted and shall have
been registered in the field of Highway Construction for grade mentioned in the table below with the
ICTAD.

04. Qualification requirements are specified in Section 5 of the Bidding Documents.

05. Interested bidders may obtain further information from Chief Engineer, Road Development
Department, Vavuniya (T.P. No. 0242222953) and inspect the bidding documents at the office of the
Chief Engineer, Road Development Department, Kandy Road, Vavuniya from 17th May 2010 to
04th June 2010 during office hours on working days.

06. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on
the submission of a written application to the Chief Engineer, Road Development Department, Kandy
Road, Vavuniya from 17th May 2010 until 04th June 2010 from 0900 hrs to 1500 hrs upon payment of
a non refundable fee as listed in the table. The method of payment will be by cash.

07. Bids shall be delivered to the address given below on or before 09th June 2010 at 11.00 am. Late bids
will be rejected. Bids will be opened soon after closing in the presence of the bidders’ representatives
who choose to attend.

08. A pre-bid meeting will be held at the Road Development Department office of the Chief Engineer,
Kandy Road, Vavuniya on 24th May 2010 at 11.00 a.m.

09. All bids shall be accompanied by a “Bid Security” as per the information given in the table.
