DJ TRIPPING
WITH LSSIT
LAMP GLOWING
WITHOUT LSSIT
LAMP GLOWING
Trouble in
Aux. Power circuit or SIV
Trouble in
DJ control circuit
If DJ is not tripping after keeping switches as above, check the working of aux. motors and
normalize the switches one by one.
After normalizing the switch if again DJ trips, keep the particular switch in 3 position and
resume traction.
If any auxiliary motor is not working, trouble shoot as per TSD.

DJ Tripping with LSSIT
Reason:
Any internal Fault in SIV unit, like
1. Fan fault
2. Rectifier fault
3. Fuse melted
4. Inverter fault
5. Control electronic circuit fault
Any External Fault (Auxiliary circuit), like
1. Earth fault (Any terminal touching the loco body)
2. Short circuit (Winding Short circuit)
3. Single phasing ( Due to one phase is open circuited)
4. Over Load (Bearing seized and Impeller broken etc.,)
If any External or Internal fault is sensed by SIV control electronics then,
SIV stops & restarts with LSCHBA glowing for 2 to 5 times normally (in AAL
Type)
DJ trips with LSSIT after few seconds without restarting (in SIEMENS Type)
But DJ is in remain closed condition and UA meter is deviating
If trouble is not rectified, DJ trips through relay QSIT and LSSIT lamp glows in drivers
desk.
Note: For some internal faults, DJ trips with LSSIT immediately without restarting
SIEMENS
Indication:
1. DJ trips + LSSIT glows + inside fault lamp glowing + Earth Fault in LCD display
or
2. DJ trips + LSSIT glows + out side fault lamp glowing + Earth Fault in LCD
Display
At the end of 45 min. if there is a permanent earth fault, DJ trips with LSSIT and SIV
locked permanently
AAL
Indication:
DJ trips + LSSIT glows + Earth fault LED glowing + ELD_FT in VFD display
