Overview
The P-CIM for Windows Video module is available in P-CIM for Windows Rev. 7.00 and higher.
P-CIM Video enables you to connect to any video camera and to capture and monitor the
picture in your P-CIM project. It also enables you to make a basic digital recording.
Acting as a DDE Server, P-CIM Video enables you to write to its available items. In this
document, the P-CIM Video Server is referred to as PfwVideo.

Requirements
Hardware Requirements:
Video card with a window -capturing driver (support for Microsoft Windows functions)
Software Requirements:
Any 32 Bit Windows OS
P-CIM for Windows or P-CIM for the Web Rev. 7.00+

Configuring P-CIM Video Parameters


1. In the P-CIM Group click the

P-CIM Video icon to access the P-CIM Video Monitor.

2. In the File menu check the Stay on Top option to define that the P-CIM Video Monitor is
displayed above other windows on the computer screen.
3. In the File menu select the Settings option to open the Video Monitor Settings dialog box.

Select the following:


Path that the Video recording files (*.avi) are saved to.
File name (the beginning of file name)
Folder (path) where the PfwVideo database is created (PfwVideo.mdb). The following
data is saved for each recording file in the PfeVideo.mdb:
Recording start time, Recording finish time, File name, Description.
4. From the Edit menu select Preferences to open the Preferences dialog box.

This dialog box has the following fields:


Background Color

Defined screen background color.

Maximum number of frames

Defined FPS (Frames Per Seconds).

Video and audio


synchronization

Defined synchronization between video and audio.

5. In the Options menu each video card has his own functions and interface. The following
options are available:
Audio Format

Defined audio files recording quality.

Format

Defined screen size and image format (number of colors).


Defined card input type.

Source

Defined communication.
Defined color.
Compression

Where file compression quality is defined.

Preview

Unknown:
Overlay unknown.
Cards List select a card to work with.
