ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION
Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into the natural
environment that cause adverse change. Pollution can take the form
of chemical substances or energy, such as noise, heat or light.
There are different types of pollution such as air, water, soil,
radioactive, thermal, noise, light and visual pollution, and littering.

WATER POLLUTION
Water Pollution occurs when harmful substances are released
into the water in large quantities which cause damage to people,
wildlife or habitat or indirectly into water bodies without proper
treatment to remove harmful compounds.
ROLE OF AN INDIVIDUAL IN
PREVENTING WATER POLLUTION
Industry is responsible for a large amount of pollutants that pollute
water.
By properly disposing of all wastes, we can help to reduce the
amount of water pollution that is created.
Never throw, run or drain or dispose into the water that shall cause
pollution.
AIR POLLUTION
The contamination of air by smoke and harmful gases and the
addition of harmful chemicals to the atmosphere results in air pollution.
SOIL POLLUTION
Start composting brown leaves in your yard and green scraps from
your kitchen. It will reduce waste while improving your yard and
garden soils.
