MEAHTOD OF ENGAGEMENT

METHOD OF FIRE AND CONTROL
Method of Fire – Standard is 1 gun in adjust, 2 round is requested at long distances

-After the initial call for fire above, a Message To Observer will come back from the FDC stating units to
fire, changes to call for fire, number of rounds, target number, probable error in range, angle t, time of
flight

-Sequence of Subsequent Corrections to adjust fires in the Adjust Fire phase before entering Fire For Effect
-Direction (if changed by 100 mils), Danger Close/Cancel Danger Close, Trajectory, Method of
Fire, Distribution (sheaf), Projectile, Fuze, Volume, Deviation, Range, Height of Burst, Target
Description, Mission Type/Method of Control, Splash, Repeat
-Minimum deviation correction is 30M, Minimum range correction is 100M except when entering
the FFE phase which is a 50M add or drop
