Rationale: The Science Curriculum aims to promote enthusiasm and interest in the field of
Science. Outdoor activities and Hands on activities such as the Chem-Magic Show will
hone students critical thinking and scientific skills as well as their creativity. This activity will
be an interactive and hand on experience for the students to learn more about the different
concepts in Chemistry such as Chemical reactions, flame tests, Periodic Table of elements,
and Properties of molecules.
Objectives:
1) To promote students interest in science and technology through fun and interactive
activity;
2) To learn more concepts in Chemistry outside the classroom settings;
3) To enhance scientific and critical thinking skills as well as creativity through a magical
show presentation.

GENERAL GUIDELINES:
1. The Activity will be participated in by Science students from the third year level.
2. This will be a team project conducted by a cooperative groupings of 5 students. The team
leader coordinates the activities and acts as spokesperson. Other members are assigned
specific tasks.
3. A Learning Activity Sheet will be provided to monitor the students, progress in the project.
The Activity Sheet and the performance will be part of their grade under Performance Task.
4. The planning, rehearsal, and preparation of each section will be held during Science time.
5. The audience for the show will be from the Kinder and Grade 1 students of the LSM Grade
School Department.
Performance Task:
Goal: The challenge is to conduct Chem-Magic, A Chemistry Magical Show.
Role: You are a magician who will perform magic tricks based on Chemistry concepts
