Guest: Mr. B.P. Inani (Director, Swan Finance)

Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indore facilitated the students
by organizing a guest session on Financial Management II
carried out by Mr. B.P. Inani (Director, Swan Finance) on topics
like Capital Structure, Dividend Policy and Working Capital
Management.
Session was full of insights and a deep understanding of the
topics where Mr. Inani shared his experiences and demonstrated
real examples based on different scenarios, securities and project
redundancies.
Mr. Inani made students familiar with the (ROCE) Return on
Capital Employed, ARC (Asset Reconstruction Company),
Hybrid Funding, Diluting Ownership etc. He also stated the new
concept in capital structure with examples which help students
to understand better.
Capital Structure depends upon securities and project
redundancies in spite of designing a good ROCE stated by Mr.
Inani.
Covering the other two topics in the capital structure, the session
with examples and experiences was fruitful on the whole.

BUSINESS SIMULATION
"In theory, there is no difference between theory and
practice. But, in practice, there is."
A 4-day Entrepreneurship stimulation course is organized by Jaipuria
Institute of Management, Indore which studies the relationship between
the firm and its owners. This course aims to train students to deal with
corporate governance issues from both sides of the table. Specifically
prepare students for leadership roles in firms as entrepreneurs, CEOs
or senior managers. It also prepares students to manage investments in
companies in Venture Capital, Private Equity or investment funds.
Success in these professions requires being able to manage your
relationship with the companies that one has invested in. The workshop
aims to provide learning tools that facilitates the investors to run
companies, and deal with the tentative problems. It educates students
in the responsibilities they would be required to bear as the owners of
companies, and how they can be effective in these roles. It gives
students an overview of how business activities fit into broader society,
by discussing the various aspects of management and the goals they
should pursue.

The course is unique since there is no classroom teaching and

the students learn in small groups of 4-6. Student teams work
with host managers to construct innovative solutions to real-time
issues. The course encourages creative thinking and uses
cutting-edge ideas of Marketing, HR, Finance, brand equity, and
non-market equity indexing. An emphasis is placed on teaching
students how to frame unstructured business so as to convince
others.
The course adds value to the theoretical knowledge and serves
as an appropriate implication of it to the practical world.
