Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy ( SCORE)1

The Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE), is one of the five
regional development corridors being developed throughout Malaysia.
SCORE will develop the Central Region and transform Sarawak into a
developed State by the year 2020 and beyond. It aims to achieve the goals
of accelerating the States economic growth and development, as well as
improving the quality of life for the people of Sarawak.
The 2008 2030 development plan for SCORE focuses on developing the
energy sector and targets 10 high impact priority industries that will
complement the development plan and also provide downstream
opportunities for SMEs. As SCORE grows, the benefits will impact the whole
State and give citizens in the rural areas the opportunity to participate in the
States primary goal to become a high income state on a par with the
wealthier states in Peninsular Malaysia by 2020.

and will become a new economic growth engine for the ASEANChina Free
Trade Area.
"One of our main tasks during the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015) is to
accelerate the construction of a high-speed railway from Nanning to ASEAN
countries such as Singapore to establish an international passage, bolstering
Guangxi's foreign trade," Ma Biao, chairman of the regional government,
said.
EastWest Economic Corridor (EWC)3
The EastWest Economic corridor is an economic development program
initiated in order to promote development and integration of four Southeast
Asian countries, namely: Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. The concept
was agreed upon in 1998 at the Ministerial Conference of the Greater
Mekong Subregion, organized in Manila, the Philippines. This corridor became
operational on December 12, 2006.
The East-West Corridor (EWC) is not considered an important corridor from a
trade logistics perspective, except at the western end linking Thailand with
Myanmar. Current trade has been restricted by sanctions and difficult
economic conditions in Myanmar , and by complex logistics involving the
significant use of non-transparent approaches. The damage to the bridge
between Mae Sot and Myawaddy resulted in the imposition of a 12-ton
weight limit, thus excluding heavy transport crossing. Most traffic passes
through the 25 river ports and/or quays and is reloaded onto local transport
for distribution within Myanmar.
Mumbai-Bangalore economic corridor
The Mumbai-Bangalore economic corridor is spread across Karnataka and
Maharashtra and passes through major cities such as Chitradurga, HubballiDharwad, Belagavi, Solapur, Sangli, Pune and Mumbai. The main purpose of
this corridor is to link small industrial area to the major cities.
