Installation Instruction
Overview
The NetBrain system has five components: Customer License Server, Workspace Server, Automation Server,
Network Server and Workstation.

Important Note:
There must be more than 3GB free space in the system drive (mostly C drive) to
complete the installation no matter which drives the NetBrain system will be
installed on.
During a Proof of Concept, we suggest installing Customer License Server (CLS)
and Workspace Server (WSS) on the same Windows server. If you have multiple
workspaces to be created under multiple WSS servers, then please follow steps
A1.1 and A1.2 in the Appendix to install CLS and WSS on separate Windows
servers.
For Windows 2008 and Windows 2012, we recommend that you right-click on the
setup file and select the Run as Administrator option.
In the Select Features step, select the Customer License Server and
Workspace Server options.

In the POSTGRES installation step, use the default port 54321 and keep the default
username as postgres and set the password.
d) Activate Your License
After the installation wizard is finished, NetBrain License window pops up.
Click on the Trial Activate button. Fill in your Email and Activation Key in the
Register for Trial License window. (The Activation Key has been sent to you in the
Proof of Concept email.)
Note: If your license server is NOT connected to the Internet, please email support@netbraintech.com
and we will send you instructions to activate the offline license.

Note: If you do not want to install other components (Automation Server/Network Server/Workstation) on this server, click Cancel in the
corresponding window to cancel the installation and go to step 1.1h and follow the steps 1.2-1.4 to install them separately.

In the NetBrain Automation Server window, specify the service port for the
Automation Server. Follow the setup wizard to complete the installation of NetBrain
Server
Automation Server.
In the NetBrain Network Server window, specify the ports for the NetBrain
Benchmark Service and Proxy Service. Follow the setup wizard to complete the

Note: By default, the ports of Benchmark Service and Proxy Service are 7813 and 9099.

Follow the Setup Wizard to Install Network Server and NetBrain Workstation. Click

If Workspace Server is not listed under the Workspace Server tab, please follow step A1.2b
to register the Workspace Server on the Customer License Server manually.
If you want to create multiple Shared Workspaces on the Workspace Server, please follow step A1.2c and then
allocate Seats and Nodes for Shared Workspaces.

Log into the NetBrain Workspace Server homepage by entering URL http://<IP or

associate the Automation Server to the current Workspace Server.

On the Workspace Server, click Start > All Programs > NetBrain > NetBrain
Enterprise Server > Add Shared Workspace to launch the Create Shared
Workspaces tool. Choose a folder location and click Add to add a workspace.

1. Click the Workspace Server tab and choose Workspace Server on the left pane
to switch to the corresponding Workspace List view.
2. Click Refresh to ensure all the shared workspaces are listed properly.
3. Choose the Workspace entry and click Assign License to allocate seats and
nodes for this workspace.
Note: Shared workspaces should be created on Workspace Server and must be authorized in Customer
License Server to operate in the EE workstation.
Please refer to steps 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4 to install Automation Server, Network Server, and Workstation.
If you want to create multiple Shared Workspaces on the Workspace Server, please follow steps A1.2d - A1.2e.
If you want to create multiple Workspace Servers on other machines, please follow steps A1.2aA1.2c.
