Goal Statement: To develop skills, experience, and knowledge as a professional nurse in an acute health care setting in a medical-surgical
specialty and complete my education by obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

Current employment as a
phlebotomist- I perform
venipuncture, microcapillary
draws from the finger and
heel, and patient education
on proper collection of
various laboratory specimen.
Clinical rotations- I have
cared for 4 patients during
med-surg rotation. I worked
in tandem with the primary
nurse to provide care to all
the primary nurses
assignments. I have had
clinical rotations in long term
care, maternity, pediatrics,
mental health, and medicalsurgical units.
Additional experience
working in an acute health
care setting.
Additional experience in
performing nursing skills and
the nursing process.

patient prioritization
thinking and clinical judgment.
Trained a phlebotomy intern- I

provided education and skills
training to a new phlebotomy
intern in 2014. She
successfully completed 100
hours and 100 successful
venipunctures.
Rule follower- I value policies
and procedures to provide
structure.
Encouraging- I encourage all
team members and
classmates to do things to the
best of their abilities and to
reach their goals.
Task skills- make sure I am

organized so that it is easier
for me to carry out multiple
tasks in the nursing field.

to deal with conflict instead of
try to ignore it.
Currently have a Bachelor of Arts

in Chemistry- obtained in May
2009
Full-time employment- have had
previous employment and
worked as a team member in a
health care related field.
Research- Do additional
research on the difference
between a masters and doctoral
nursing degree.
Gain experience to aid in the
decision of specialty for nurse
practitioner
