GENERAL
1.1
This Specification outlines specific instructions to follow when compiling the

Daily File for work being performed offshore. It describes the Daily Progress
Facsimile Report, the required attachments, and methods by which this file is
to be compiled and conveyed to the SAUDI ARAMCO Project Management
Team (PMT).
1.2
It is the sole responsibility of CONTRACTOR to implement this reporting

system in accordance with the instructions set forth in this Specification.
1.3
CONTRACTOR shall assign the responsibility for completing the Daily File to
persons totally conversant with the compensation provisions of the Contract.
This duty should be delegated to at least one person for each spread or barge.
1.4
This Specification does not release CONTRACTOR from his obligation to

prepare any other report that may be required by SAUDI ARAMCO.

1.0
DAILY PROGRESS REPORT

2.1
The format for the Daily Progress Report is shown in Appendix A. The Daily
Progress Report shall be used for all spreads engaged in offshore
construction work. The Daily Progress Report requires a description of the
operational activities, the spread, associated vessels, and the manpower
breakdown from 0001 hours to 2400 hours on the date given.
2.2
The Daily Progress Report is to be completed by CONTRACTOR and

concurred by the SAUDI ARAMCO Representative on board prior to
transmittal to CONTRACTOR's main onshore base (office).
2.3
The Daily Progress Report shall be compiled using information from

CONTRACTOR's own work logs, vessel logs, inspection reports, diving logs,
force account time sheets, and so forth.
2.4
One Daily Progress Report shall be made for each distinct spread. For the
purposes of this Specification, a spread is any collection of vessels that
normally operate as a unit for which CONTRACTOR has a published spread
rate (for example, hydrotest spread, grout spread).
2.5
The content of the Daily Progress Report shall be verified by the on-site
SAUDI ARAMCO Representative prior to its incorporation into the Daily File.
2.6
The Daily Progress Report has a fixed format and specific guidelines for
completion that shall be divided into nine sections as follows:

Weather: Based on actual site conditions as agreed with the SAUDI

ARAMCO Representative at 0600, 1200, 1800, and 2400 hours,
showing wind direction and velocity, visibility, and sea state (height of
the waves) for each period.
2.6.2
Activity: The type of compensation involved is broken-down into

seven possible methods (as defined by the Contract and listed
below):
Lump Sum Work (bid).
Contract Spread Rate (hourly work within the Contract scope,

thus requiring a FWD). Itemize by the listed activity (weather,
SAUDI ARAMCO standby, other delays, and so forth.)
Contract Unit Rate (Unit Rate work within the Contract scope
requiring an FWD).
Extra Work - Spread Rate performed at CONTRACTOR's Spread

Rate requiring a Change Order.
Extra Work - Unit Rate for which there is a Contract Unit Rate
requiring a Change Order.
Extra Work - Rental Rate performed at CONTRACTOR's

itemized rental rates requiring a Change Order.
Non-reimbursable activities including remedial work, and so forth.

Remarks: A general narrative of the work progress, description of

any deviation and any other remarks. The SAUDI ARAMCO

Tower Log: A detailed log of the work progress as per the Tower
Log, itemized by time from 0001 hours through 2400 hours. A copy
of the logs shall be submitted to the SAUDI ARAMCO
Representative daily.
2.6.7
Supporting Equipment: The name, type, and activity of each

supporting vessel.
2.6.8
Crew: The number of personnel on hand broken down by

classification (U.S., U.K., third country national (TCN), and so forth),
sub-contractors (named), SAUDI ARAMCO personnel, the total
number of personnel, and personnel movements.
2.6.9
Contract Reimbursable Materials Consumed: The type of material

and the quantity of material used that day.

these documents will support the information given on the Daily Progress
Report and shall be included in the Daily File.
The following is a list of the minimum number of documents that shall be
included in the Daily File for each day:

CONTRACTOR's Daily Progress Report.

CONTRACTOR's Daily Barge Crew List showing the classification of

each crew member and the number of crew members for each
classification, broken down into U.S., U.K., TCN, and subcontractor.
The list shall also include all SAUDI ARAMCO personnel on board.
3.2.3
CONTRACTOR's Vessel Logs (including all supporting tugs and

work boats).
3.2.4
CONTRACTOR's Survey Reports.

CONTRACTOR's Daily Diving Report including CONTRACTOR's

Diving Supervisor's Logs.

THE DAILY FILE

4.1
CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for preparing a Daily File for each

distinctive spread, from which he shall file the Daily Progress Report and all
associated attachments.

The left-hand side of the inside file cover shall be used to file the Daily
Progress Report and all the associated attachments outlined in Section 3.0 of
this Specification. The Daily Progress Report and each attachment shall be
separated within the file by a blank divider. Each blank divider shall be
tabbed, showing its contents (such as Daily Progress Report, CONTRACTOR
Survey Report, and so forth).
4.3
In addition to the above, two blank dividers shall be tabbed showing

CONTRACTOR's Daily Progress Facsimile and CONTRACTOR's Invoice.
These will be filed by SAUDI ARAMCO PMT on receipt in Dhahran, Saudi
Arabia.
4.4
The right-hand side of the inside file cover shall be similarly separated with
blank dividers as outlined in Section 4.2 above and will be for SAUDI
ARAMCO use only. Each blank divider will be tabbed as follows:

The outside edge of the file cover shall show the relevant date of the Daily
File.
4.6
The outside front cover of the file shall show the barge (or primary vessel)
name and Contract number.
4.7
The size of the Daily File shall be 9 inches by 14 inches. A sample shall be
submitted to SAUDI ARAMCO for approval.
4.8
The Daily File, as described herein, shall be submitted to the SAUDI

ARAMCO Representative for his concurrence on the morning following the 24
hour period covered. CONTRACTOR shall insure that sufficient quantities of
files, folders, dividers and other similar items are onboard each spread.
DAILY CHECK SHEET
From CONTRACTOR, show the file contents by attaching to the top of the first
blank divider on the LEFT hand side of the inside cover the Daily Check Sheet.
Each item is to be "ticked-off" as being inserted. In the case of any report not
being inserted, (example: CONTRACTOR'S Work Order or other correspondence)
the INSERTED column is to be left blank.
From SAUDI ARAMCO, show the file contents (filed by the SAUDI ARAMCO
Representative onboard) by attaching to the top of the first blank divider on the
RIGHT hand side of the inside cover of the Daily Check Sheet.
