Volunteer / Coordinator Activities: 1. Spread The Word About SK 2010 Initiative

Volunteers can help with the SK 2010 initiative to provide school kits to underprivileged children in several ways: 1) Spreading information about the initiative through emails, posters, and organizing stalls; 2) Collecting cash and check donations, recording donor details, and handing donations to the organization; 3) Helping to pack school kits; 4) Assisting with distribution of kits to NGOs by arranging transportation; and 5) Helping with event preparation and conclusion celebrations. Volunteers are encouraged to participate and support the initiative to help provide school kits and smiles to over 25,000 children.

Volunteer / Coordinator activities


Based on your interest and time, you could choose to do one or all activities related SK 2010 in the
capacity of Coordinator:

1. Spread the word about SK 2010 initiative:


a. Circulating an e-mail through official channel (HR / CSR) within your company, to
friends, relatives, mail groups. Don’t forget twitter, orkut and facebook.
b. Displaying SK 2010 Posters: With prior permission from respective authorities, you
could put up posters at prominent public places in office and in your housing society (e.g.
Lifts, porch, cafeteria, security cabins etc. Please remember to mention your name &
contact details (Floor No., Phase No., Flat No etc) on the poster.
c. Organize a stall in your company canteen or in the parking area of your housing society.

2. Start collecting Checks and Cash:


a. Note the donor’s details on the left side of coupon. Details required are Name, Address,
Phone num, Email , Organization/Society Name ( Employee# in case of company )
b. Hand over the Donations to Seva Sahayog team as per your schedule & convenience
preferably twice a week. For any donation above Rs 5000/- , PAN is a must.
c. Each donor will receive receipt of Sewa International. Digital copy of 80 G will be
provided to you which can be given to donor if required.
d. Donation in Foreign currencies can be accepted online through Sewa international USA
(http://www.sewausa.org). Due to transactional charges the donation should be in
multiples of 5 USD, 4 EURO & 3 POUND – donor must mention that this de 10”
e. Amount to be collected will be in multiples of 250. In case donation amount is more
than 500, it can be in multiples of 100.

3. Packing Kit
a. Prepare a list of volunteers for kit preparation and distribution activities to be conducted
in April-May-June 10.
b. You can give some of your time for packing SK
c. Get your family, friends, and relatives for SK packing!

4. Distributing SK
a. Check with your friends, relatives if they are ready to volunteer to distribute the SK to
NGO
b. Arranging vehicles (either yours or friends) for SK distribution.
c. You can arrange for distribution of kits in your company to the kids of housekeeping staff
or needy once. Get in touch with Seva Sahayog people for the details and feasibility.

5. Conclusion and Celebration


a. Extend help in preparation, on stage, back stage activity
