March is here! Which means competitions are starting! This is such an exciting time for
the studio! We get to show off how hard we have worked all year! Please make sure
that you are reading all of the notes. They are always emailed to you and available at
the front desk. If you are not receiving emails please come to the office so we can get

Competitions
Competition lineups will be available as soon as we get the final lineup from the
competition director. We usually do not receive this information until the week of the
competition. Please look for these in your emails and also at the front desk. They will
have all of the arrival times for your team. It is very important that your dancers are on
time at their call time, ready in their costume with hair and makeup done. Sometimes
the competitions are running ahead so we need to be prepared in case that happens.
We always need to remember good sportsmanship with not only our studio but with
other studios as well. Being kind and happy for other studios is very important! We
really like for all of our students to stay for the awards. It makes it so fun to have them
all participating and cheering for each other. Also, please remember that all dancers
need to wear their warmups at all times unless they are practicing with their teacher.
This makes us look more professional and unified as a studio. It is very important that
they are not walking around, eating in, or watching other dances in their costumes, as
we do not want any costumes to get ruined, and we want the judges to see the
costumes for the first time when they go on stage. As always, be sure to check your
bags three times to make sure you have all costume pieces, hairpieces, shoes, and
tights.
Costumes
Please be sure you have marked your child's costume, shoes, and tights with their
name and class letter or team name. Please do not wash costumes in hot water or dry
them in a dryer. Please wash by hand in cold water and line dry only if needed. Some
costumes may need to be steamed out if they have any kind of tutu or netting. To do
this you simply need to place the costume on a hanger in the bathroom, turn your
shower on hot and shut all doors. This will allow all the wrinkles to fall out of the
costume and make it look fluffy and seamless. Never use a hot iron on dance costumes.
Please only allow your child to wear their costume at performances. Do not let them
play in the costume or wear to dance class until after the yearend review. Please make
sure you keep very good track of all costume pieces and hairpieces. It is very important
that your dancer has all every costume piece at all competitions and performances.
Year End Banquet

We will be holding our first Gravity Year End Banquet at The Gathering Place in
Gardner Village on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 from 6-8pm. All team dancers and
competing cheerleaders will attend at no charge. Parents will need to pay $20 to the
front desk by April 14, 2016. At least one parent/guardian is required to be with your
dancer/cheerleader, or you need to make arrangements for them to attend with a team
member parent. This event will be for team member and parents only. No siblings due
to limited space.
Summer Intensive 2015

We are so excited for our Defying Gravity Summer Intensive! The kids had such
a great time last year and learned a lot from amazing instructors! All team members are
required to attend. This will be a great opportunity for all dancers and cheerleaders to
learn, and experience some new instructors. If you pay this amount by May 1st, your
dancer will receive a free tank top. Registration forms will be coming out in April, along
with more information.
Dance Summer Intensive: The dates for the dancers will be July 20th-22nd, with a
special showing for parents the night of the 12th to show off what the dancers have
learned. The fee for intermediate and advanced dancers will be $150 and for beginners
$90.
Cheer: The dates for the cheerleaders will be July 18th-19th with a special performance
on the 19th for the parents to see all they have learned. The price for cheerleaders will
be $100.

All Teams wearing tights should be in capezio caramel except Nova wear Gaynor Minden Tan Stirrup or
the seamless capezio caramel tights.
