You have heard that it was said, “You shall not commit adultery.” but I say to you that every one who looks at a
woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
SEXUALITY
AFFECTS ALL ASPECT OF THE HUMAN BEING IN THE UNITY OF HIS BODY AND SOUL.
Cultural Prejudices and Preconditions
PATRIARCHAL DISTORATION
- the wife is considered to be a property of the husband.
DOUBLE STANDARD
- the woman could be considered to commit adultery if she has an extra marital relationship
with other man, while the man can be considered to commit adultery if the man has an intercourse
with another woman.
Sex is a taboo topic and restricted to be talked about and it has laws and restricted laws.
Tend to develop into a moralistic, legalistic rigidity regarding sexuality.
Christian View of Human Sexuality
God gives man and woman an equal personal dignity.
Man and woman are both different and complementary.
Man and woman are called gift to mutual gift self to a reprocity.
STATES OF MAN AND WOMANS LIFE:
o Conjugal Union
o Consecrated Celibacy
o Youths
o Single Blessedness
“Everyone of us are called to a life of LOVE…”
Biblical Perspective
The man and his wife were both naked, yet they felt no shame.
A man leaves his father and mother and his clings to his wife, and the two of them become one body. Thus, they
are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore, let no man separate what God had joined.
Redeemed Sexuality
Are not just biological facts for Christians, rather, renewed by God’s love through Christ Jesus in the Holy Spirit,
they are a real personal power and per during state FOR LOVE, a love which develops, heals and creates.
RISEN CHRIST
- liberates from two tyrannies:
o Puritanical attitudes and misguided taboos, regarding sexuality,

The Sixth Commandment enjoins a free, responsible fidelity to life-long conjugal union that is:
o 1. a complete union of love at all levels in the fullness of their personal lives.
o 2. an enduring and permanent bond.
INTEGRITY OF THE PERSON
MAN AND WOMAN SHOULD AKNOWLEDGE AND ACCEPT HIS SEXUAL INDENTITY.
Apprenticeship in self-mastery
o - a training human freedom.
o - man governs his passion and finds peace, or lets himself be dominated by them and becomes unhappy.
Means
o - whoever wants to remain faithful.
o - self knowledge
o - practice an ascesis adapted to the situations that comfort him
o - obedience to God’s commandments
o - exercise of the moral virtues and fidelity to prayer
Temperance
o - seeks to permeate the passions and appetites of the sense with reason.
Long and Exacting work
o - presupposes renewed effort at all stages of life.
Laws of Growth
o - Man … day by day builds himself up through his many free decisions; and so he knows, loves and
accomplishes moral good by stages of growth.
Cultural Effort
o - rights of the person, in particular the right to receive information and an education that respect the
moral and spiritual dimensions of human life.
Form
o - to become the witness to his neighbor of God’s fidelity and loving kindness.
Friendship
o - shows disciple how to follow and imitate him who has chosen us all as his friends, who has given
himself totally to us and allows us to participate in his divine estate.
Friendship with one’s Neighbor
o - it leads to spiritual communion.
CONJUGAL FIDELITY
ACCEPTANCE WILL LEAD TO THE GOOD OF MARRIAGE AND FLOURISHING OF FAMILY.
Conjugal Fidelity
o the intimate partnership of life and love established by the creator and governed by laws; it is rooted in
the conjugal covenant, that is, in their irrevocable personal consent.
o Fidelity expresses constancy in keeping one’s given word.
o Faithfulness is very essential.
Fedundity of Marriage
o End of marriage
- for conjugal love naturally tends to be fruitful.
- the children are the spring from the very heart of the mutual giving.
o Cooperating with
- fulfilling the duties with a sense of human and Christian responsibility.
o Man’s Eternal Destiny
- let all be convinced that human life and the duty of transmitting it does not only limited by the
horizons of this life only: their true evaluation and full significance is to support and guide their
young's and wife.
“A child is not something to owed but is a gift.”
The virtue of chastity do:
o Put order into our use of sexuality.
o Channels our sexual energies towards positive service of love.
o Seeks the proper limits within which our passion can be reasonably directed towards authentic joy and
peace.
