Practical BIM

The document discusses defining and managing BIM uses on construction projects. It makes the following key points: 1. A BIM use should have a clear purpose and outcome, and specific parties responsible for performing and receiving the use. 2. BIM uses can be categorized based on whether they are within a discipline, between disciplines on a team, or between different project teams. 3. Level of development (LOD) specifications should not dictate authorized BIM uses. Instead, LOD tables should indicate model progression, and BIM uses should reference required LODs. 4. BIM uses should be decided based on what project participants want to perform, not what model authors permit. Owners

ForaparticularBIMUsetobeachievabletheBIMmodelmusthavecertainrequirements.
