INTRODUCTION
General
India is the country where men earns to satisfy the basic needs which includes mainly
food, cloths & shelter famously known as Roti, Kapda aur Makan. As we all know in last few
decades India has developed substantially in affordability and availability of food & clothing
regardless to the rate.
But when the matter comes to Housing or Shelter in the areas of metropolitan cities
like Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, New Delhi, Kolkata etc. which are considered to be the A1 cities of India, the rate of land, construction materials, labours & equipments for its
construction become so high that it becomes difficult for common men to afford it & manage
the housing in his whole life. Also, it can be seen that availability of housing in these major
cities is very low. Local Areas get crowded like animals by workers, employers & other LIG
peoples.
Other than these India is now developing fast enough to compete with developed
countries. For that our government is implementing new projects of Smart cities in which
construction technique will matter a lot.
Hence, in our present study, we are going to focus on how to minimise the
construction time, make an effective construction practise using Precast Concrete structure &
learn some base construction of precast concrete structures.
1.2
Scope of work
As construction industrialization is springing up in our country, precast concrete
housing, as a result, has been developing rapidly. Based on this project about precast concrete
housing system, the latest stress performance research of precast concrete frame structure and
up-to-date engineering application can be studied.
Since, the scope of this publication is limited to the use of precast concrete for lowrise housing. In some instances, reference is also made to related concrete technologies and
other markets for which this report may be also be useful. This report refers to a wide range
of precast concrete products. However, the focus is on concrete components, elements or
modules that are manufactured off-site and then assembled on-site at a later date. This
includes mainly structural elements such as walls, beams, floors, columns and panels. For the
purposes of the report, other small scale precast products such as concrete blocks and lintels
have not been included.
