And Maybe Key in Also The Line Ratings Rate 1 300MVA and Rate 2 350MVA

This document provides instructions for creating a network case study in PowerWorld Simulator by inputting transmission line and generator data based on a given figure. The steps include: 1. Creating a new network case and inputting bus data including numbers and voltage levels for 8 buses based on a figure. 2. Inputting generator data including max generation, reactive power limits, and MVA base values for 4 generators at buses 1-4 based on the figure. 3. Inputting load data including real and reactive power values for loads at buses 5-8 based on provided data. 4. Inputting transmission line data including resistance and reactance values in per unit, length, and ratings for lines between

You are on page 1/ 2

1. Create New -> Network Case.

Then theres this network data

tables opened, below got busses and equipment, branch.
Node breaker other. Etcetc
2. Choose busses and equipment. Above them got bus, plant,
and machine load etcetc. Focus on those four.
3. At Busses and equipment -> Bus. This is to refer at the figure.
there is a table. Fill in only bus number and base kv. (Figure 1:
Bus number 1 (13.8kv) , 2 (13.8kv) , 3 (13.8kv), 4 (13.8kv), 5
(230kv), 6 (230kv), 7 (230kv), 8 (230kv)
4. Next, choose Busses and equipment -> Machine. From the
data annex, this is for the generation data. So referring figure
1, we have 4 generation, So fill in Max Gen (Pmax), MVAR
Limits min (QMin) and MVAR Limits max (Qmax). Also, below
data annex got generator ratings, for wind plant is 100MVA,
solar plant 200MVA, Power Plant 500MVA etcetc, change in the
table for Mbase(MVA) to the specific ratings of your generator
plant.
5. Go to Busses and equipment -> Plant. Key in the generator
plant. Based on figure 1, Bus number 1,2,3,4. THATS ALL
6. Next, go to the Load tab under Busses and equipment, from
data annex at the Load data, key in bus number 5,6,7,8
(referring to figure 1) . fill in the PLoad (70, 50, 80, 60) and
QLoad (15, 10, 20, 10).
7. Go to the below tab, choose Branch -> AC Line. This is for the
transmission line data at the data annex. Fill ine the bus 5-6,
5-7, 6-8, 7-8, Before key in, you have to change the R and X to
per unit.

Key in

9.4518e-5+ j1.1342e3

in the Line R (pu): 0.000095 and

Line X (pu): 0,001134 ALSO key in the length line. And maybe
key in also the line ratings Rate 1=300MVA and Rate
2=350MVA

8. Go to the next tab, which is the 2 Winding. This tab is for the
Transformers. For this case, there is key in for transformer
from bus 1-5, 2-6, 3-7, and 4-8. Key in to all transformer for
specified X (pu) to 0,1 (10% tu). Then for T1 and T2, winding
Base 100MVA while T3, T4, T5 winding base 200MVA
9. How to save the network case: Save case as.. find your folder
you want to save at. Title.sav for saving diagram title.sld
10.
WEVE TRIED IN SAVING THE WHOLE CASE INTO ONE.
HOWEVER, WE FAILED ,THEREFOR FOR EACH SCENARIO, DO
THE DATA ALL OVER AGAIN DIFFERENTLY.
11.
Now, click new -> diagram, then one blank page will
pops up. At the left side of the tab: you have study explorer
and network tree (look below at the left side). Choose network
tree. And a whole bunch of folders you will see. Expland the
bus. Simply, right click at each busses and choose draw. Then
wallaahhhh,, draw all lah then.
12.
Check for the bus type. Double click the bus lines, a bus
data record box will appear. Change the type code to
generator for lines at bus 1, 2 and 4. Swing bus for line at
generator 3 (as required in question) while for the other
busses, 5,6,7 and 8, the type is non-gen.
13.
by double clicking at transformer, you are required to fill
in at the vector group, click the 3dots then choose delta to
wye kind of specification.
14.
Simple check everything, then your circuit is done.
15.
Now, to solve the problem, upper tab, go to power flow
-> solution -> Solve (NSOL/FNSL/FDNS.). A box will appear,
choose Gauss. Solution Method: Gauss-Seidel.
16.
An output bar will pop out, if not, go to View -> Output
bar
17.

Taraaaa you are done !
