Notes
1

Every time wheel positions are changed on an A8 (D2), including the spare, the Save pressures procedure must be carried out in order to learn the new sensor positions.

Allroad & Audi Q7 both have a collapsible spare tire with out a sensor that must be inflated prior to use. Driving on the collapsible spare may result in a warning displayed and a DTC stored.

Every time wheel positions are changed on an A8 (D3), including the spare, the Initialize wheels procedure must be carried out in order to learn the new sensor positions.

Every time wheels are changed on an A4 (B7) & A6 (C6) the Initialize wheels procedure must be carried out in order to learn new sensors. This is critical when driving on the spare.

Tire pressures being stored cannot be below the coded value (see coding table for each system). Every time tire pressures are changed they must be stored (see owners manual).

During Save Pressure procedure wheels are also learned (initialized). If only the pressures have been changed the system may finish the learning process in less than 30 minutes.

Initialize wheels allows the system to learn its sensors. This must not be done near other vehicles with TPMS. During this process the pressures are also learned.

After a certain model year TPM systems cannot be turned OFF by the customer. Always check latest technical information.

Notes
9

The A4 (B7), A6 (C6) & the Audi Q7 use the same TPM system. The A4 (B7) is operated by the controls on the windshield wiper arm while the A6 (C6) & the Audi Q7 use the MMI.

10

GFF Test Plans contain documents, which are helpful in understanding the system & its functions. (e.g. MVBs, system status descriptions, coding table, system functions, etc.)

11

During the learning process, the MVBs do not show the correct location of the sensors. MVBs show accurate sensor location only after the learning process is finished.

12

Low Line systems only learn the 4 sensors (spare not learned) installed on the vehicle & not their location. VAS 6287 trigger tool should be used to find location of the sensors.

13

The system can recognize the rotation of the sensors. Therefore, the sensor that shows no rotation is assumed to be the spare & will not be learned by the system.

14

A8 (D3) system status can be seen in the MMI. When the system has learned all of the sensors and/or tire pressures, the learned values will be displayed in the MMI. No values displayed
in the MMI indicate that either the system is still learning or the learning process was unsuccessful.

15

MVB 16 shows all sensors visible by the system. This includes sensors installed on the vehicle, any loose sensors & sensors from other vehicles nearby.

16

While using the VAS 6287 trigger tool look in MVB 16 to see the sensor being triggered. The spare tire sensors in the A4 (B7) & A6 (C6) can be triggered to check their condition.
