SECTION 2
The PDS documentation set is available as Adobe PDF files. The content of the PDF files is the
same content as online Help.
The documentation set is divided into four categories:
Administrative guides contain information about installing, configuring, customizing, and
troubleshooting PDS.
Users' guides provide command reference and how-to information for working in each PDS
task.
Reference data guides define the reference data workbooks. Not all tasks have reference
data.
ISOGEN guides.
Administrative Guides
Users' Guides
to create drawings and drawing views and to access drawing files. Includes step-by-step
descriptions of commands used to create and annotate drawing views of model data.
DPDS3-PB-200006 - Interference Checker/Manager (PD_Clash) User's Guide Describes
the forms interface to the Interference Checker/Manager (PD_Clash) software. Provides
information on creating interference envelopes for PDS 3D models, checking for interference
between models, and managing approved interference for a project. Also includes
information on how interference checking affects and is affected by various database tables.
DPDS3-PE-200008 - Material Data Publisher Help File Windows Help file describing the
Material Data Publisher tool. This Help file contains information also found in the PD_Report
User's Guide.
DPDS3-PE-200009 - PDS 3D Help File Windows Help file containing information from all
PDS 2D, PDS 3D and FrameWorks Plus user documentation.
DPDS3-PB-200015 - PDS Equipment Modeling (PD_EQP) User's Guide Provides
information to engineers and operators on how to create and manipulate equipment and
equipment components (including nozzles). Also provides limited information concerning the
Equipment Modeling interface to other products including EDEN and Piping.
DPDS3-PB-200025 - PDS Stress Analysis Interface (PD_Stress) User's Guide Allows
designers and draftsmen to generate neutral files from three-dimensional piping models that
are created by PDS Modeling Packages. The resulting neutral files can be used as input for
Third-Party stress analysis packages.
DPDS3-PE-200032 - Project Engineer HVAC Overview Provides a conceptual overview of
the product. The topics covered in this document are a brief history of the product, a
discussion of the general approach to using the product, key concepts introduced in the
product, a basic workflow that charts some typical paths through the product, and information
on the other products that integrate with this application.
DPDS3-PB-200035 - Report Manager (PD_Report) User's Guide Describes the forms
interface for the Report Manager used to define reporting criteria and run material take-offs on
a piping or equipment model. It also provides general information on reporting, common to all
the PDS 3D tasks. It describes the MTO process including information on the determination
of implied materials.
DPDS3-PE-200052 - PDS Ortho Draw User's Guide - Describes how to install, configure, and
use PDS Ortho Draw to create piping, HVAC, and electrical drawings.
DPDS3-PE-200045 - PDS Label Library Merger Utility Describes using this utility to copy
labels from one or two label description libraries into another library, to modify the destination
library as necessary, and to add and remove labels.
DPDS3-PE-200046 - PDS Queue Creation Describes using the Queue Creation dialog box
to create and modify PDS batch and pipe queues.
DPDS3-PE-200047 - PDS Reference Data Auditing Tool Describes how PDS users can
audit and report the discrepancies between the active project reference database and an
archived dataset, transfer data over an FTP connection (so that the project database and
archive dataset can reside at different PDS project sites), and maintain data integrity among
models and drawings at different workshare sites.
DPDS3-PE-200048 - Pipe Supports Explorer Utility Describes the Windows look and feel
interface that allows creation of Pipe Support construction drawings using the SmartSketch
Automation.
DPDS3-PE-200051 - Batch Services User's Guide Describes using Intergraph's Batch
Services for Windows. This system service provides tools for the management and execution
of non-interactive tasks. The batch system is fully networked, and provides connectivity to
other batch servers.
10
DPDS3-PB-200017 - PDS ISOGEN Reference Guide Provides details about the Intergraph
interface to the ISOGEN software. Includes a list of all custom Intergraph options for
ISOGEN as well as details on all supported Alias options. Operator sequences for running
interactive or batch isometric extraction is also included.
