1.Token
a.StartingJune23rd,2015gotoECFMGwebsite,gotoyourOASISandclickERASsupport
sectionatlefthandbottomandchoosetobuyaResidencyToken.Thetokenisvalidforthematch
year.
2.AAMC
a.AfterpurchasingtheTokenyouwillgetaspecialserialnumber.GotoAAMCwebsiteand
registerit.ThiswillgiveyouaccesstoMyERASprofileinordertobeginupdatingyourprofilewith
informationanddocumentsfortheupcomingmatch.
3.FillingoutyourERASprofile
a.Youwillbepromptedtofillinsomegeneralinformationatfirst,suchasyourschool,dateof
graduation,whetheryourequirevisaornotandetc.
b.WithinthatsameapplicationyouwillalsofilloutyourCVbyaddingexperiencesandwriting
howmanyhoursyouhavedoneandsmalldescriptionsofwhatyouhavedoneduringthattime.
i.N.B.Workexperienceiseverythingthatwasarotation,observership,clinicalteaching.
Volunteerexperienceisprettymucheverythingelse(clubs,beingpartofsocieties,workshops,
etc).Therewillalsobeaseparatesectionforresearch.
4.DocumentUpload
a.LettersofRecommendation(MyERAS)
i.ThisisaboutgeneratingPDFstosendtothosewhowillwritethemanduploadonyourbehalf.
IfyouareanIMGandhavenonwaivedletters,uploadthemviaOASIS.
ii.Youhavetwochoices:waivedornonwaived.Nonwaivedlettersaresimplyuploadedbyyou.
Waivedlettermeansthatyoudontgettoseetheletteranditisuploadedbythepersonwhois
recommendingyou.Theselettersareconsideredmuchstronger.Startinglastyear,AAMC
introducedtheconceptofwaivedlettersbeingsubmittedonlineviaasecurenetwork.Theprocess
worksassuch:yougoonyourMyERASprofileandclickonthedocumentssection.Thereyou
carryoutarequestforaletterofrecommendationbutfillingoutthenameofthepersonwhois
recommendingyouandtheirposition.AfteryouclickbelowtpauthorizethegenerationofPDF
file.Thisfilecontainsinstructionsfortheletterwriteonhowtouploadthelettersuccesfullyon
yourbehalf.SendthisPDFtoyourletterwriteandhavethemfollowthesteps.Asasuggestion,

b.ThebestresourceforresearchisFREIDA.GotoFREIDA,andsetyourownfilters.After
selectingtheprograms,tryvisitingtheirwebsitetofindoutanyrequirementswhichmaycostyou
anautomaticdisqualificationfromthegame.Paycloseattentiontoprogramsthatdontsponsor
visas.Remember,Itisalwaysbesttochecktheirwebsitesandrequestanyadditioninformation
firsthand,thentotrustlistspeoplecreatedyearsago.

6.ClickonProgramstabandclickoneachprogramandcheckboxesinorderattachthe
necessarydocumentstothem.

7.OnSeptember15th,2015,gotoyourprogramslistandchecktheboxnexttoeachprogram.
Scrolldownandcompletethestepstomakethepayment.Onceyouhavepaid,waittoreceive
yourconfirmation.
a.Tokill2birdswithonestone:Afteryouhavecompletedthepayment,gotoNRMPwebsiteand
registerforthematch.Itisaonetime65$fee.ThiswillcomeinhandyinFebruary,whenyouwill

8.YoucancheckthestatusofyourERASapplicationforeachprograminADTS,whichislocated
onthetoprightbarnexttoMessages.
9.Nowthewaitbegins.YouwillgetnotificationstoyouremailandERASMessagessectionfor
interviewsandrejections!
