Projects Summary

Successfully implemented Control system for EMCS (Electrical Monitoring and


Control System) for
Abu Qir Power station Unit 6, & Unit 7.
Client: Abu Qir power plant upgrades (WDPGCO)
Description: based on Siemens (S7-400H, Distributed I/Os, Simatic panel mounted touch
HMI, WinCC
SCADA, Scalance networking system).
This was a monitoring and control system utilizing the S7-400H and S7-300 PLC to and
WinCC SCADA and local panel mounted HMI to operate monitor, control, present, log, and
print alarms, events, and trends of recorded process variables. The system included the logic
interlocks for manual operation of fast transfer system; the system had a redundant
communication network and redundant PLC architecture where high Availability was
required, a Server, Engineering station, and Operator station.
The system was then connected to the DCS (AC800XA ABB DCS) of the plant utilizing OPC
DA and OPCA&E protocols.
Software used: Siemens Totally Integrated Automation (Simatic professional 2010, WinCC
flexible 2008,
WinCC 7 SP2).
Successfully implemented Control system for MARASSAI irrigation and Sump water
Plant With GSM Communication with water Tank.
Client: EMAAR
Description: based on Siemens (S7-300, S7-200, Md720 modems for communication,
Distributed I/Os,
WinCC SCADA,).
This was control system utilizing the S7-300 ,S7-200 PLC and WinCC SCADA to operate
monitor, control, present, log, and print alarms, events, and trends of recorded process
variables. The system included the control of operation of irrigation and golf pumps operated
by S7-300 station by receiving SMS message from s7-200 station (golf tanks) to start and stop
pumps in order to maintain the irrigation pressure on the desired value (process value from
SCADA).
Software used: Siemens Totally Integrated Automation (Step7 professional V13, Wincc
Professional V13 GSM Library ,).

Successfully upgrading SCADA system on Conveyor lines of Coca-Cola bottles at


MEG (Middle East Glass).
Client: COCA-COLA EGYPT
Description: based on Siemens (S7-300, Distributed I/Os ET200S, WinCC SCADA,
Sinamics S120 Drive).
This was control system utilizing the S7-300 to and WinCC SCADA to operate monitor,
control, present, log, and print alarms, events, and trends of recorded process variables. The
system included upgrade Ac Drives of production line from Danfos system to Siemens
Sinamics S120 and integrated in the Simatic software System in the hard ware configuration
to add Gsd file of each Drive also addressing ac drives in the communication protocol used
(Profibus protocol ) and scripting warning conditions of Ac drives in SCADA system.
Software used: Siemens Totally Integrated Automation (Step7 professional 2010, WinCC 7
SP2,Siemens starter software V12,).
Successfully upgrading Control system with its control station (S5 to S7) on power
cable production line
of EL-SEWEDY CABLE.
Client: EL-SEWEDY CABLE
Description: based on Siemens (S7-400, Distributed I/Os, WinCC SCADA,).
The system included upgrading Control System from Siemens S5 controller to S7 controller
of cable rolling machine including scaling of analog temperature sensors, adjusting the set
point of servo drives with S7 PID and finally using Visual basic for xml interfacing used to
save the configuration of the application which can be editable for any user according to SQL
instance name and PC name.
Software used: Siemens Totally Integrated Automation (Step7 professional 2010, WinCC 7
SP2,).
Successfully implemented control and monitoring system for MCC Chiller System.
Client: Toshiba Refrigerators Factory.
Description: based on Siemens (PLC S7-300, Micro-master 440 Drives, Sirius Soft
starters, Simatic Panel mounted touch HMI). The system utilized the PLC to receive the
signals from the chiller management system and to run fans and pumps and apply standby
equipment logic, the PLC was connected to the drives through Profibus communication bus,
the HMI was used to monitor the status of the system motors and to allow operator to change
key parameters in the drives, the HMI was used to present log alarms for the MCC.
Software used: Step 7 Professional 2010, WinCC flexible 2008.

Successfully implemented a Generator synchronization and control Panels utilizing,


kW load sharing modules, and KVAR Sharing, auto synchronizers at MEG (Middle East
Glass).
Client: Middle East Glass factory (MEG)
Description: based on Siemens (PLC S7-300, wonderware intouch HMI), GAC
synchronizers, GAC governor and kW Load sharing modules, and kVAR sharing modules,
synchronic checks etc
This was a control system utilizing the S7-300 PLC implemented in generation and main
distribution switchgear build at our panel builder company division, to apply the logic
required to achieve the operation philosophy required, on main distribution switch gear 2 out
of 3 and 1 out of 2 feeder interlocks logic and ATS was implemented on another PLC.
The HMI was installed in synchronization panel only to monitor the status of the system and
set operation priorities for generation units, and set points the loading conditions of each
generator, also to present and log alarms and events. Generator sets were Caterpillar.
Software used: Step 7 Professional 2010, wanderware intouch for HMI.
Successfully implemented Control Station (PLC S7-1200) for AL-AMIRIA sewage
water plant with GPRS Communication to Schneider SCADA SYSTEM.
Client: Arab Contractor
Description: based on Siemens (S7-1200, telecontrol server, Distributed I/Os, Schneider
SCADA,).
This was control system utilizing the S7-1200 and SCADA to operate monitor, control,
present, log, and print alarms, events, and trends of recorded process variables. The system
included the control of operation of 5 sewage pumps stations which each station has S7-1200
Cpu and I/O and Every stations are communicated via GPRS communication over APN
NETWORK (supported by Vodafone Egypt ), all 5 PLC send their tag status and recipes
through GPRS MODEMS of each Station to Siemens telecontrol server and the server send
the status to the SCADA system through Modbus TCP/IP cable.
Software used: Siemens Totally Integrated Automation (Step7 basic V12, Wincc comfort
V12, Schenider Vijeo
Citect software).
Successfully Design Power Management system based on Siemens (Simatic, Sentron,
and power quality meters),ICAR AHF, utilizing S7-300 PLC, PROFIBUS network,
SIMEAS-P power quality meter, & WinCC Flexible Runtime HMI.
Client: EGYTECH Cables.
Description: based on Siemens (PLC S7-300, Simeas power quality meters, WinCC flexible
PC based HMI), Icar Active harmonic filters, and EPCOS Power factor correction System.
The system utilized the PLC platform to collect data through Profibus network from power
quality meters and I/Os to monitor and control CBs of Switchgear , power quality meters
where installed at main step-down transformers, HMI was for monitor and metering and
controlling the switch gear through mimic SLD, and generate power quality reports. Power
factors and active harmonic filters were installed at main step down transformers and were
monitored at the HMI system. The HMI was used to log and present alarms for the
Switchgear.
Software used: Step 7 Professional 2010, Simpar (Simeas parameterization software),
WinCC flexible 2008

Implemented Solid Mass flow-meter system based on S7-300 PLC, speed sensing, PID
closed Loop control, and S7-300 SIWAREX weighing System.
Client: Gypsum Factory
Description: based on Siemens (PLC S7-300, TP177, SIWAREX weighing System, Shaft
encoder, Micromaster
440 Drives) This was a control system utilizing the S7-300 PLC to apply a solid mass flow
meter and totalizer on a speed controlled and monitored conveyor with load cells installed on
it, display was installed to adjust set points and monitor flow rate and total flow.
Software used: Step 7 Professional 2010, Simpar (Simeas parameterization software),
WinCC flexible 2008.
Automated Air supply (Blower System) for steel production train utilizing S7-300
PLC, Micro-master 440Drives, PID control, & Profibus Bus connection Between PLC
and Drives.
Client: ATAQA STEEL factory .
Description: based on Siemens (PLC S7-300, Micro-master 440 Drives, Sirius Soft
starters, Simatic Panel mounted touch HMI). The system utilized the PLC to receive the
signals from the chiller management system and to run fans and pumps and apply standby
equipment logic, the PLC was connected to the drives through Profibus communication bus,
the HMI was used to monitor the status of the system motors and to allow operator to change
key parameters in the drives, the HMI was used to present log alarms for the MCC.

Engineering and programming of Siemens SCADA (WINCC) on BRACKISH
REVERSE OSMOSIS plant
using S7-300.
Client: Veolia water treatment
Description: This was control system utilizing the S7-300 and WinCC SCADA to operate
monitor, control, present, log, and print alarms, events, and trends of recorded process
variables.
Software used: Siemens Totally Integrated Automation (Simatic professional 2010, WinCC
flexible 2008,
WinCC 7 SP2).
Commissioning and start -up of AC- Drives used for pump and compressor operation .
Client: Nile Sugar Factory
Description: startup and commissioning of 50 Sinamics G 120 P and 10 Sirius 3RW 44 soft
starters
to operate in the factory DCS (PCS7) on the Profibus network.
Software used: Siemens Starter
Successfully implemented control system for shipping line pipe welding train.
Client: Petrojet
Description: based on Siemens (PLC S7-300, TP177, Micro-master 440 Drives)
This was a control system utilizing the S7-300 PLC to apply an open loop control system to
control the speed of welding carrier and pipes speed while welding process was done from a
shaft encoder sensor , display was installed to monitor the system and present alarms and to
tune and adjust the system speed and speed ratios.
Software used: Step 7 Professional 2010, WinCC flexible 2008.

Implemented temperature control system for boilers and circulating pumps.


Client: Power IRAQ
Description: based on Siemens (PLC S7-1200, TP1500 text display). This was a control
system utilizing the S7-200 PLC and Temperature sensors to control the operation of four
boilers and five circulating pumps to achieve a set point at the boilers output manifold using
hysteresis control philosophy, the system was also to have the load on the four boilers and the
pumps to be equally distributed in run hours and also according to priorities set to boilers and
pumps. The display was installed to monitor and present alarms of the system and allow the
operator to adjust the priorities of boilers and pumps.
Software used: Siemens Totally Integrated Automation (Step7 basic V12, Wincc comfort
V12,).
