8 Row MultiSlice CT Scanner

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The CereTom is a compact, lightweight, mobile, high speed, battery and
line powered multi-slice helical CT scanner optimized for scanning anatomy that
can be imaged in the 25 cm field of view,
primarily head and neck. The system
generates up to 8 slices per revolution,
using a Modular Multi-row Detector
(MMD). Combining mobility with state of
the art image detail enables the CereTom to provide effective and flexible
CT imaging. The CereToms wireless
image transfer system (WITS) enables it
even greater flexibility as every examination can be processed wherever a patient is located.

8 Row MultiSlice CT Scanner

The CereTom 3000 from NeuroLogica is a compact, 25 cm field of view, lightweight, low power, mobile, battery and line
powered, CT imaging system, optimized for head/neck studies that provides high 2D and 3D image quality at a low dose. Its
unique combination of wireless communication, physical mobility, and beam line design contribute to its ease of use, flexibility and
patient safety. Engineered by CT design veterans, it provides a highly reliable, easy to operate and service, economical CT system
capable of performing the general requirements for head/neck imaging, as well as other body parts, and also CT Angiography, CT
Perfusion, CT Fluoroscopy, and low noise NeCT.

SYSTEM FEATURES
High Image Quality
With efficient dose utilization and 17
line pair per centimeter detectors, the
CereTom delivers low contrast resolution of 3 mm at 0.3% and high contrast resolution of 0.35 mm. Sharp 3D
surface and volume renderings along
with MPR images are generated from
high definition pixel data. Using CT
Angiography of the head, a 25 cm distance can be scanned in 30 seconds
with a slice width of 1.25 mm.

State of the Art 2D and 3D

Renderings and Image Analysis Software
A combination of optimized geometry,
data correction algorithms, beam correction algorithms, etc. with internationally proven 2D and 3D flexible data reformatting and presentation software
result in true state of the art imaging,
providing exceptional diagnostic capability.

Compact, Lightweight, Low

Power, High Speed
The compactness and lightweight of the
CereTom, enabling it exceptional
mobility, and based on integral aluminum casting construction, low power
requirements, efficient heat transfer,
among other engineering design factors, belie its capability to provide, at
relatively high speed, images that rival
those obtainable from much larger,
heavier, more powerful, and costly CT
systems.

The exceptionally, almost incredible,

low x-ray power is due to the unique
product of compact geometry, air
cooled x-ray tube, optimized filtering,
and detection and sampling efficiencies.

The streamlined design of the CereToms internal components combined with its state of the art modular
assembly makes diagnosis and repair
fast and uncomplicated, greatly reducing down time.

Wireless Communications
DICOM images are wirelessly transferred to and from the Clarus workstation using 802.11g secure transfer
protocols.

Patient Safety

With its lightweight, battery operation

and using a high quality caster system,
the CereTom can be easily moved
throughout a facility for use at patient
locations. Its compact size allows it to
be brought into even confined patient

areas such as ICU rooms. It is ruggedized to easily pass over freight elevator thresholds.

Ease of Service

The CereTom permits simultaneous

8-slice acquisition per 1 second rotation
using the MMD allowing for fast volumetric data acquisition. High-speed
scanning allows clearer, sharper images with fewer artifacts caused by
patient movement.

Low Power

Highly Mobile Scanner

Fast Scan Times

The CereToms compact small bore

geometry combined with the low power
x-ray Monoblock results in high quality images with low dose patient expo-
sure. The scanner has relatively low
radiation leakage.

Economical to Acquire, Operate

and Maintain
The CereToms relatively low initial
cost, simplicity of operation, requiring
minimal operator training, exceptional
reliability, modular construction and
self-diagnostics ensure life-cycle economic performance. In three easy steps
using an integrated high resolution touch
screen monitor with a user friendly interface, the technician can effortlessly setup
and start a clinical study.

High Reliability-Long Life X-Ray

Tubes
Reliable operation over an extended
temperature range is due to a combination of simplified modular design, low
power consumption resulting in lower
internal operating temperatures, long
life x-ray source operating at highly derated power levels, use of proven componentry, and a design reliability philosophy based on years of experience.

Impervious to Line Voltage

Transients or Variations
The CereTom is equipped with a battery array that when fully charged enables it to independently scan up to
eight consecutive patients without recharging. The system runs on any
standard electrical outlet with 90264VAC, 47-63Hz. The internal electrical system automatically isolates and
protects the scanner from power fluctuations and surges, making it capable
of operating under extreme conditions.

Radiation Scatter Diagram

The CereTom closely resembles a portable x-ray c-arm as it relates to radiation safety. The above readings were
obtained with the scanners covers removed! The addition of covers further reduces the scatter radiation readings.
Although the CereTom incorporates a high degree of protection against x-radiation, other than the useful beam,
no practical design of equipment can provide complete protection.
It is important that everyone having anything to do with x-radiation be properly trained and fully acquainted with the
recommendations of the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements as published in NCRP Reports available from NCRP Publications, 7910 Woodmont Avenue, Room 1016, Bethesda, Maryland 20814, and of
the International Commission on Radiation Protection, and take adequate steps to protect against injury.
