1 Visa Application
Once a students application to MUIC has been approved, a letter of
acceptance, along with a letter for a visa application, will be issued.
International students require a Non-Immigrant Education Visa
(category ED) to study in Thailand. Applications should be submitted
to any Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate well before departing for
Thailand.
Documents required:
1. Visa application form
2. Passport, with a remaining validity of not less than 6
months
3. Two recent 4 by 6 cm full-face photos
4. A letter of acceptance/admission from MUIC
5. Evidence of adequate finances as determined by the Royal
Thai Embassy
Note: Students who plan to study at MUIC for just one trimester will
be granted a single entry visa. Students who plan to study at MUIC
for more than one trimester can apply for a single entry visa or a
multiple entry visa. Each entry allows a 90-day period of stay in
Thailand. This can be extended to cover the full period of studies.
2 Visa Extension
Foreign students with student visas must obtain supportive letters
from the Student Exchange Unit office each time they apply for a visa
extension. MUIC full-time students who have been staying in
Thailand under a parents visa will need supportive letters from us for
visa extensions once they are 20 years old. The current visa must
have at least 21 days left before expiration at the time of application.
Documents required and process:
1. Contact the Student Exchange Unit office to complete a
MUIC Visa Extension Request Form.
2. Give the form to the Finance office, pay a fee of 100 baht,
and then request a receipt of paid tuition fee from them.
3. Make 1 copy of each of the following: first page of
passport, visa page, departure card, and latest immigration
stamp.
4. Submit all documents to the Student Exchange Unit office.
5. Staff will give 2 more documents to students for preparing
their information as follows;
A. Complete an Application for Extension of
Temporary Stay in the Kingdom (TM.7) and glue
a photo (4 x 6 cm.) onto the form.
8.
9.
Note: The visa extension fee is 1,900 THB. In addition, the overstay
fine is 500 baht per day, up to a maximum of 20,000 baht. If the
overstay exceeds 40 days, the student must leave the country as well
as pay a fine of 20,000 baht.
3 90-Day Notification
Once the Immigration Bureau has admitted students into the country,
their passport will be stamped with the conditions of entry. One such
condition is the 90-Day Notification.
Students who stay in Thailand for 90 days without leaving the
country are required to report their address at a local Immigration
Office. If you are travelling in Thailand when your 90-day report is
due, you may submit your report at any Immigration office.
Documents required:
1. 90-Day notification form TM.47 available at the Student
Exchange Unit office or www.immigration.go.th
2. Official passport

Students holding a single entry visa who plan to spend their holidays
outside of Thailand need to apply for a single or multiple re-entry
permit before their departure. Otherwise their visa will be invalidated
and they will have to go through the whole process of getting the
proper student visa at a Thai Embassy or Consulate outside Thailand.
The re-entry permit can be obtained at the local Immigration Bureau,
airport and border.
