After over a decade of building cages for

personal use, CagesByDesign.com was
established in 1998 as a bird, reptile, and
small animal cage manufacturer. Shortly after
incorporation, we began a mission to develop
the ultimate small animal, reptile and bird
cage systems. With a factory direct sales
philosophy we not only have the ability to
keep prices low, but gain feedback directly
from our customers as to what they are
looking for in their enclosures.

We wanted to create cages that are

affordable, mobile, light enough for the
average person to be able to fit in their home
or office, durable enough for commercial use,
and attractive enough to be a museum quality
display. We have worked tirelessly to design,
modify and redesign our cage systems. We've
spent thousands of hours on our designs to ensure
they have the proper strength, durability,
and functionality.
Now, over fourteen years later, we are the USAs
largest build to order small animal, bird, and reptile
cage manufacturer. Because of the versatility of our
cage systems, we have manufactured thousands of
cages for hundreds of different species.

renovate their holding room for promotional animals.
These are the very same animals you see Jack on
various television shows with. We are very excited to
win the approval of such a conservationist and well
known figure in the industry,says Adam Keller,
president of Cages By Design. We are very happy and
honored to do this for them. In October, the Cages By
Renowned wildlife expert Jack Hanna and his new

Design team installed the over $50,000 worth of

enclosures and accessories for Jack Hanna at the zoo.
The cages hold everything from macaws, to snakes

In June of 2006 a terrarium built by CagesByDesign.com

was featured on MTVs Pimp My Ride. In the words
Gyasi, of one of the professionals at GAS "Glapin Auto
Sports" who renovated the WWII style Volkswagen, the
terrarium was the bomb! CagesByDesign.com custom
built this enclosure to what Gyasi described as a perfect
today . . . Hybrid
fit for the back seat of the

vehicle. This is just
another one of the
advantages to
CagesByDesign.coms
enclosure system, they can
be custom sized for just
about any application
down to about 1/16th of
an inch! The owner of the
vehicle featured in this
episode is going to use the
enclosure to transport her
California King snakes
and her Ball Pythons. All
the inner accessories such as bark, vines, and logs were
also provided by CagesByDesign.com with one
exception, the TV! The GAS team also installed a tiny
television into a rock mounted inside the cage so even

We chose the name Hybrid because it is a perfect
description of our reptile enclosure system. Instead of
conforming to one particular type of enclosure, we pick the
best materials for each function. For example, the doors and
side panels on our standard reptile enclosures are clear acrylic
so you can view your pet, the back is laminate or a custom
background to give the enclosure a professional, classy
appearance, and the bottom and top also come standard in
our laminate material. The end result is not one particular type
of enclosure, but a Hybrid of all different types of enclosures
to give you the best of all worlds. In addition, every species of
reptile is different and every situation is unique, which is why
we also allow customers to customize their enclosures and
choose what types of materials they would like to use
depending on their circumstances, thus creating their own
unique Hybrid.
Advanced, Computer Generated Design
Over the past thirteen years we have worked tirelessly to design,
modify, and re-design our reptile cage system. We have used
over a dozen engineers, tested countless prototypes and
materials, used computer generated strength analysis, and
spent thousands of hours on our design to ensure it has the
proper strength, durability, and functionality. We have proprietary
patents, we invented our reptile cage design, we own the
tooling, and nobody else can copy our reptile enclosures.

Easy Assembly
All of our enclosures require assembly once you receive them.
Cages come with an allen wrench to secure the frame members
of the cage together. The only other tool required is a #1 phillips
head screw driver. For some larger units we recommend two or
more people for assembly to help manage the large frame or
panel members. A moderate skill level is required for assembly.
We also have live support available during business hours to
help you with any problems you may have.

Interchangeable Cage Panels

Any front door, back, side top or bottom can be made out of
acrylic, glass, stainless steel wire, thermofused laminate,
aluminum laminate, or perforated aluminum. These panels are
all interchangeable and can be switched or replaced at any
time without having to purchase a whole new reptile cage!

Modular and Transportable

We have learned though our own experience, as well as
through our customers, how difficult it can be to get other
reptile enclosures as large as ours into your home and put
together. This is why all of our Hybrid reptile cages break
down for easy transportation and mobility. When you are
moving there's no need to buy a new enclosure, our
enclosures can be taken down and reassembled many times.
We have even sold very large cages similar to the ones
pictured right to a traveling circus that takes down and puts
back together the cages three times a week! This is a feature
very few other reptile enclosures offer and can save you the
cost of purchasing an entirely new cage down the road.

Stackable
Our reptile cage system is completely stackable without having
to purchase expensive racking equipment. Our corner joint
system has pin slots molded into them to easily stack and lock
multiple enclosures together. This also allows hoods and
stands to be interchangeable with the entire reptile cage
system. The same pin slot can also be used to install casters
so your reptile cage can be moved easily!
Expandable
One of the most frustrating aspects of purchasing a reptile
enclosure is trying to decide how large to get it. As a result,
herp owners may end up buying several enclosures
throughout the life of the animal, each time throwing one to the
curb. With our Hybrid reptile enclosures, you can purchase
the size that's appropriate now and add on later!

date (example above). This is essentially two enclosures connected
together in the middle which can be used as one big enclosure or
separated later and used as two separate enclosures.
~ Modular: Some enclosures require assembly, on average about an
hour per cage. Most hoods and stands come pre-assembled with the
exception of larger units. This modular system allows you to get any
size enclosure into your vehicle, through doorways, around corners,
and up stairs. You will not find fine furniture style cages with this level
of versatility anywhere else!

corners, intricate moldings, decorative accents, while Contemporary

Hand Made in the USA

All of our wood, aluminum and stainless steel materials are
made in the USA and all or our Majestic Reptile Enclosures
are hand crafted one at a time at our Neenah, Wisconsin
facility. We pay special attention to detail with every piece,
hand sanding every unit and fully assembling to ensure a
perfect fit of all components for every reptile enclosure before
they leave our door.
Precision Enclosure Building Equipment

All our Majestic Enclosures are constructed in our own
state-of-the-art woodworking facility, complete with digital
readout equipment accurate to thousandths of an inch. These
enclosures are not made in a part-time hobbyist's basement or
garage but in a full-service facility with all there is to offer in
technology to create strong joints, great finishes, and superior
craftsmanship. This also allows us to create the high-quality
pieces with far less lead time than the competition.

Modular and Transportable

On average it takes about an hour to put one of our enclosures
together making it easy to disassemble to fit in a car or truck, fit
through doorways or to go up stairs. Our sectional cages screw
together in partitions, allowing you to put up or take down part of
your cage to fit your needs at any given time.
More Custom Options than ANYONE

Hoods, stands, feet, legs, decorative crown molding accents,
image backgrounds, removable cage dividers - more custom
options than any other cage manufacturer! You will not find
furniture style cages with this level of versatility anywhere else!
Quality Materials and Durable, Pet-Safe Finishes

We use only the best wood and other materials in our enclosures.
Each reptile cage comes standard with a solid wood frame, is fully
lined with an anodized aluminum interior (not powder coated steel),
and is made with materials bought from many suppliers close to our
facility in northern Wisconsin. Classic cages, hoods and stands
come standard in Oak wood with your choice of one of our four
colors of water based stains (safe for pets), and Contemporary
cages, hoods and stands come standard in hard Maple wood, and

Any of our Hybrid cages can

interlock with a stand or hood using
our revolutionary corner and pin
system. They are the same basic
construction as a cage except they
come with laminate sides and doors
rather than acrylic or wire. If you order
a wire top with a cage and set the
lights on top, the hood will hide your
fixtures and trap heat inside the cage.
A stand can elevate your cage to eye
level and add storage space. The
price for Hybrid and Majestic hoods and stands are shown in our
package specials. For a full list, please visit our website. Please
specify when ordering if you want a stand or hood. A hood will
come without a bottom and a stand will come without a top unless
otherwise requested. Adjustable shelves are available. Note: A
wire top for a cage should be ordered for a hood to be functional for
lighting and heating purposes.

Adjustable Shelves for Stands
Any of our stands have the option of adjustable shelves. These

shelves are custom installed per order to fit the length of your stand
and are either 8 or 12 deep, depending on the depth of your stand.

shelf brackets) with all holes pre-drilled and ready to install are
included with purchase of the first shelf. Multiply the length of your
stand times the prices per foot listed below. Please leave specific

problem of getting cords for internal accessories outside your cage
and at the same time can be used as an adjustable air flow vent.
Fits zero to five cords allowing as little or as much air flow as you
wish. The part can be fine turned for any combination of these two
features! Securely fastens in place so animals can not escape. Tell
us where you want them installed and we will drill the holes for you
for free (we can not install in acrylic). Recommendation: Place one
in each corner on the back panel (scatter more along top and
bottom if more ventilation is desired). Hot air rising will pull fresh air
into bottom of cage and push old air out of top. Use adjustment on

Stainless Steel / Perforated Aluminum Wire Top Inserts
We have available framed stainless steel wire and framed

perforated aluminum that we can install on the top of your cage.
This will allow you to set lighting on top of the cage without having
the entire top open, creating excessive heat loss. Great for short
cages where you do not want to lose valuable space inside the
cage and keeps the fixture away from your pets reach. Opening for
stainless steel wire is 1 x 1 for medium / large animals and

Internal Mounting Hardware
The best way to retain heat and

humidity is to mount your fixtures
inside a fully enclosed cage. The
L-bracket allows you to swivel your
fixture and direct the light how you
choose. We can custom install
threaded inserts when purchasing
this option so all you have to do is screw your fixture in when you
get your cage (make sure you give instructions on preferred
placement when ordering). It is also recommended that you order a
cord hole grommet (see p. 20) in close proximity of your fixture so
you can get your fixture cord outside the cage without a huge
