COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER Public Relations /


Fundraising / Foundation Board Support
Rossbrook House is seeking a strongly organized, collaborative,
creative person with the skills to effectively prioritize, schedule and
complete work in assistance of the Executive Director. Experience
with Office Management, Fund Development and Communication
work is a must.

RESPONSIBILITIES / ACTIVITIES
Point of Contact The Communications Officer triages phone calls and
email messages to the ED, tracking associated outcomes [calls back or
actions required] to completion; the CO diarizes EDs meetings,
presentations, etc and provides reminders.
Fund Development Work The Communications Officer documents and
facilitates all activities related to the fund development plan. Annual FD
activities include: newsletters, e-mailings, appeal letters, event promotion,
fundraising luncheons, and other activities. The CO works directly with
vendors and service providers to accomplish these tasks.
The CO will work with the Admin Assistant and ED to provide thank you notes
and emails to supporters for their donations. The EA will work with the
Director of Finance and Administration on tasks related to inputting the data
base (i.e. Front Stream) and analysing data to produce reports for the Fund
Development Committee.
Public Relations/Communications The CO will perform a variety of tasks
to promote the brand of Rossbrook House. Those tasks include: reviewing
and updating Rossbrooks web-site, designing and carrying out a social
media plan that includes the use of Facebook and Twitter; using an email
marketing program (i.e. Constant Contact); facilitating the creation of the
Annual Report and Donor recognition materials.
The CO will be responsible for collecting and organizing media resources
needed to effectively promote Rossbrook House: photos, videos, interviews,
participant stories, news stories, etc.; including the creation of posters,

banners, media releases, etc. The CO will be called upon to help write and
edit promotional materials, newsletter articles, e-letters, media releases, etc.
The CO will be responsible for the creation of email lists, including media lists
to help promote events or program accomplishments at Rossbrook House.
Rossbrook House Foundation Board Liaison The CO will facilitate
meetings and minute taking for the Rossbrook House Foundation and the
Fund Development Committee.
QUALIFICATIONS

Post-Secondary Degree or Certification in Business Administration,


Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or Fundraising

Knowledge and experience with the non-profit sector including services


related to youth and social issues

Excellent computer skills with emphasis on data base software and


communication applications including social media
