Congratulations to all of our contestants who were involved in the school level GeoBee round last Thursday night. Good
Luck to Ryan Cook who will go on to represent our school at the next level of competition.

Student Led Conferences This WEEK! Sept. 21st 25th!


Fall Student Led Conferences take place this week. During this time, your student will share their SMART goals for the year
and share their dreams with their families and Advisory Teacher. Please contact the school immediately if you do not have a
conference scheduled. Also, make note that Monday Friday are adjusted days with a release time of 1:04 pm.

Visit the Book Fair!

Our Scholastic Book Fair is now open and will run through Thursday, September 24th. The book fair is in our school library open daily
from 8 am 4 pm. A visit to the book fair is the perfect way to celebrate a job well done after your conference or pick up some reading
material to help boost your performance next quarter. Cash, checks, and debit/credit cards are all accepted for payment and 8.5% tax will
be added to each purchase. You may also shop online or find information about the fair at
http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/ednahill. All proceeds from the fair will benefit our school library.
Our Scholastic Book Fair is offering an exclusive paperback edition of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Old School for the low price of $8.99 ($9.75
including tax), scheduled to be released November 3rd. This book series by Jeff Kinney is very popular with students and the paperback
version of the latest book is available only through the book fair so dont miss your opportunity to preorder one today.

Unified Sports League


We are proud to announce that BUSD is starting a
Unified Sports Basketball League in partnership with
Special Olympics Northern California and the
Brentwood Police Activities League. Unified Sports
combines students with and without disabilities on
sports teams and is dedicated to promoting social
inclusion through shared sports training and
competition experiences. We will have three practices
and four games with other Brentwood middle schools
after October break. If you have a child interested in
participating or you would like more information on
how to support our Unified Sports League we will be
hosting a meeting this Thursday, September 24th, in
the Edna Hill theatre from 6:307:30 pm.

READ NATURALLY!!
Due to our adjusted days this week Read
Naturally classes will be available on Tuesday,
Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons from 1:052:00 in the computer lab. Please stop by to view
this awesome program if your student should
improve their reading skills! Read Naturally will
return to its regular schedule on Tuesday, October
13 of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
mornings from 7:25-8:05 and Wednesday
afternoons from 1:05-2:00! Join us for success!
